COLOUR DOPPLER EVALUATION OF CAROTID AND VERTEBRAL VESSELS
The colour Doppler signals and the blood flow velocities shows normal appearance in the common carotid, internal carotid and external carotid arteries.
The intima-medial thickness measures 0.08 cms on left side & 0.07 cms on right side.
There are seen multiple calcified plaques seen in the common carotid on right side, largest measuring 0.27 cms with a soft non-calcified plaque before the carotid bulb measuring 0.5 x 0.2 cms.
There are seen 2 calcified plaques measuring 0.50 cms & 0.53 cms respectively in the carotid bulb on left side.
The colour Doppler signals and the blood flow pattern shows normal values in the visualized portions of both the vertebral arteries.
IMPRESSION:
➢ MULTIPLE CACIFIED PLAQUES IN BOTH THE COMMON CAROTID ARTERIES AND A SOFT NON-CALCIFIED PLAQUE IN THE RIGHT CAROTID BULB WITH NORMAL FLOW PATTERN IN BOTH CAROTID AND VERTEBRAL ARTERIES.
