Emory Cause-Related Marketing Program GuidelinesWe appreciate your interest in supporting Emory. Emory often receives requests from businesses and community organizations interested in supporting Emory’s programs through cause-related marketing opportunities that promote awareness of, and raise funds for, a specific Emory effort or program while supporting that business or community organization’s commercial and philanthropic initiatives. The Guidelines below outline the application process and requirements for entering into such a relationship with Emory. Cause-related marketing efforts that benefit Emory must be approved in advance by the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement to ensure there are no conflicts of interest with Emory or with Emory’s mission, vision, or values.Emory requires that a Cause-Related Marketing Program Application with supporting materials be submitted at least 60 days prior to the date you wish to begin a marketing campaign that supports Emory. The Application must include a complete marketing and publicity plan that outlines how the Emory name, brand, and logo will be used. Please note that all promotional materials (e.g., invitations, ads, fliers, brochures) must be approved by an Emory representative before Emory’s name, brand, or logo is used.The Cause-Related Marketing Program Application must also include an estimate of the amount Emory will receive from the program. One hundred percent of net proceeds of the campaign must be provided to Emory, the minimum commitment must be $10,000, and the proceeds must be delivered to Emory no later than six weeks from the conclusion of the program. For ongoing programs, Emory and the organization shall come to an agreement regarding regularly scheduled disbursements of proceeds. These proceeds are not considered a philanthropic donation to Emory; no gift receipt for tax purposes will be issued.The business or community organization is responsible for marketing and promoting the Cause-Related Marketing Program, including media, press releases, posters, fliers and advertising. As a non-profit organization, Emory does not sell or endorse products or services provided by other organizations. Sales-driven fundraising projects or projects that imply Emory’s endorsement or promotion of a single product or service will not be approved. If an organization is selected to provide a Cause-Related Marketing Program, Emory and the organization will enter into a written agreement, a form of which is included with this document.Emory SupportTo maintain patient, donor and employee confidentiality, Emory cannot provide any internal mailing/donor lists to a third-party organization and is unable to mail or send information on behalf of the third-party organization.
