• Meeting minutes for 5/4 were reviewed and approved.
• Overview of PDAC – Karyl Rattay, MD, Director, Division of Public Health
o Dr. Rattay discussed the history, leadership, policies, subcommittee priorities, and action plan for the Prescription Drug Action Committee. Her presentation is attached.
• CDC Report on the Opioid Epidemic – Marc Richman, PhD, Assistant Director for Community Mental Health and Addiction Services Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health-State of Delaware
o March Richmond described the epidemiology of the opioid overdose epidemic in the United States as reported by the CDC. The presentation is attached.
• Recommendations for Improved Treatment Access
o There was insufficient time to discuss recommendations, but committee members were advised to consider suggestions for recommendations to be finalized at the last meeting, which will take place on September 3, 2014.
