Career options may include emergency medical technicians, paramedics and emergency room nurses. This class DOES cover graphic material!Text & Materials NeededBasic Fundamentals of Emergency Care by Beebe and Funk, 3rd editionValid Email address for Healthcenter 21 account3 ring notebook with loose leaf paper (please keep all handouts in binder)Scrubs$4.00 for BLS/CPR cardLate Work Policy- Late work will be accepted with three days for half credit.Quizzes & Tests -1 quiz per week and at least 2 tests per quarterHomework- May be assigned occasionallyJournal Articles- Presentations are due every week for 20 points. The Template can be found on my webpage. These will not be accepted late!MIDAS Articles- will be completed in class for 10 points participation.Dresses for Success- Students have the opportunity to dress in scrubs EVERY Wednesday for a college and career readiness grade. No open toe shoes are accepted!!!HOSA- Meetings will be Wednesdays after school 2:20-3:00 in room 2115. 1st meet and greet is August 13th after school. (No cell phones during class, adhere to dress code, only water bottles in class, no sleeping or unruly behavior, etc.)I will collect any cell phones being used during class and turn in accordance to school policy.Be prepared for class with all necessary materials. (Books, papers, pencils, etc)Treat everyone with respect and dignity, especially if talking about sensitive material.Be on time and in class when the bell rings, or you will be counted tardy.
