ESTABLISHMENT OF CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF ANDHRA PRADESH

The Ministry of Human Resources Development and UGC nominated the University of Hyderabad to mentor CUAP for the first two years. CUAP is headed by a Dean In-Charge as a nominee of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad. The University of Hyderabad as Mentor to CUAP administers the new University through a registered society. The ViceChancellor of the University of Hyderabad is Chairman of the Society, and Registrar of the University of Hyderabad is Secretary of the Society.

The Central University of Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapuramu, was inaugurated by Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon'ble Minister of Human Resources Development, Government of India, on 5 August 2018. As a temporary initial gesture, CUAP's academic activity started on the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur. The classwork began on 6 August 2018.
