Call for papersShare your ideas, knowledge, and experience!On behalf of the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division in partnership with the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, Michigan’s Public Safety Communications System, we invite you to submit your general and breakout session proposals for the 2020 Michigan’s Statewide Interoperable Communications Conference. The conference will take place from February 11-14, 2020 in Traverse City, Michigan.This training conference is designed for local, state, federal, tribal, and private public safety communications experts and emergency response personnel. This annual event provides focused education and information about the advantages of interoperable communications, 911, evolutionary changes in interoperability, and relationships. Interested speakers are asked to submit a biography, session title, session type (general or breakout) and brief description of their presentation and to let us know if an audiovisual presentation or handouts will be included. Presentations can be scheduled for a 30-, 45-, or 60-minute block of time. The conference presentation should not be specific to a company or product. Rather, it should contain information participants may use to perform their duties within the profession. Sessions depicting how real-life events have unfolded including important lessons learned on how to improve interoperable communications in the future are always well received.SELECTION PROCESSAll abstracts are reviewed based on applicability, originality, conference needs, and speaker qualifications.
