Proactiv helps people who are embarrass of their face and their acne. With proactiv they can fix it all with just a few weeks or days. On merchants of cool they use celebrates to advertise sprite. Also in color psychology proactiv use green because the chakra represents the heart because is satisfy the face of the product helping people’s acne. Proactiv has scientist that makes the product and test the results so you know you can trust this product. By just weeks proactiv make your skin clear and clean. Using proactiv is just in 3 steps. Putting on proactiv helps a bunch of people. The results I saw on the proactiv website everyone loves to product, they loved the results of it, and they got proactiv for just 19.95$. Proactiv can help people of all ages, teens to adults can use the product. People think that eating a chocolate bar will cause acne because in the morning they have acne. The answer to that myth is that the chocolate bar didn’t cause that pimple’s. That pimple was there already there and it was just waiting to get bigger and bigger until it hit the surface. For example, in Superman there was a Marlboro truck on the street where he crashed. Another example there from the Superman movie is the huge coca cola sign on the building. Basically product placement is when a product is given publicity in a movie or television show. Proactive usually has someone influential talking about their positive experience with their product and how it affected their good life in a good way. For example, Justin Bieber using Proactive and talking about it on the advertisement. Since Justin Bieber is a big star in his industry he is a big influence on his audience. A lot of Proactive products are put into ads online because there are millions of people on the internet. It gives them a lot of exposure since so manyy people use it. There are thousands of people on Facebook and if there was a proactive advertisement they would get a lot of exposure. Proactive have also put there products in commercials and ads to appeal to people who feel insecure. The ad says “Got Acne? Just ask your boyfriend what to do. Oh, that’s right, YOU DON’T HAVE A BOYFRIEND.” They put the product in that commercial to try and get teenage girls to purchase the product. Product placement is usually in the background in the movie or casually brought up in the text. For instance, “Cerie: You told me to be more proactive. Liz: No, I told you to buy more Proactiv.” Again like the time in Superman there was a gigantic Coca Cola sign in the background Emotional AppealEmotional appeal is when the emotion on the product has something happy or an emotional trigger that you buy the product. For example a toilet paper commercial there were really cute puppies. The commercial had nothing to do with toilet paper. But the puppies were the ones who made you buy the toilet paper. So in this paper I’ll be talking about proactiv. This product helps teens on their skin.When I was watching a few proactiv commercial’s I felt the happiness that all of the people that were happy with the results of proactiv. Proactiv is recommended to a lot of people with acne problems and the doctors will tell people to get proactiv to fix their skin. If I were to get this I would be a relief that I got this because my acne would stop and I feel like a different person because of this product eliminates the pours in my skin. For example “Katy Perry is embarrassed about her acne” (Katy Perry interview 29 April 2014) and she started using proactiv and she uses proactiv part of her “morning routine.” “Adam Levine didn’t like the acne that he has”. (Adam Levine Proactiv Commercial 27 April 2014 ) Since then he uses it so he can feel great about himself. The makers of proactiv wanted to help teens and adults to feel good about them so they won’t hide the acne they have. On it shows all of the stories that celebrity and other people with all of their acne that they have. Since proactiv came and other proactiv splices people wanted to get them so they can fix their acne. Loaded LanguageProactiv marketing is trying to get people to buy their skin care product by using “loaded language”. Loaded language is the language that marketing companies use to try and get the attention of the customers. In this situation Proactiv uses language that people really wanna hear when it comes to acne. For example the words like “smooth” or “clear is what people with acne want to hear so, the Proactiv company makes sure they use those certain words a lot to draw in people to buy their product. It is important for companies to use loaded language because they want to draw the attention of people with acne of course. And in order for them to do that, they need to use certain words that the people with acne want to hear. So, using loaded language is important because if you use this language (wording) that people want to hear, It will make them want to buy the product because they are seeing all of the things that they want to see/hear from Proactiv. People with acne want to their face smooth right? So Proactiv would say something like “It will keep your face smooth and soft!” Another thing people want with acne is for it not to cost a lot. So Proactiv will say something like this: “If you order now, shipping is free!” or “If you order in the next 20 minutes, we will give you it for 25% off” stuff like that that will get people’s attention. Proactiv tells you what you wanna hear. Companies use loaded language to draw in the attention of a certain audience. In this matter, Proactive usually use teens and if not teens, young adults (Adam Levine, Julianna Hough) because, acne is usually what the younger age people get. Using certain words can really change how a person looks at that product.Celebrity SpokespersonCelebrity/spoke person: Celebrity or a well-known and respected individual who serves as a regular advocate of a cause or product and, over time, whose name becomes associated with the advocated item. So the market strategy for the spoke person is telling them there story and being on commercials. Also they chose celebrity’s that had really bad acne. Justin Bieber for Proactive. This match-up is genius in my mind. For those who are unfamiliar, most girls between the ages of 11 and 18 dream about marrying Justin Bieber someday and most boys in that age group (likely won’t admit it but) want to be him. Proactive, being a product geared towards this acne prone age group, seemed to pick well when finding someone to promote their product. The millions of tween/teen female fans who beg their parents to take them to Berber’s concerts are also likely to beg their parents to buy a product he recommends. The market strategy is making sure the spoke person has bad acne and having a before and after picture that really makes people want to buy the product. Also what the celebrity/ spoke person does is say cheap prices then there story. So as you can see that’s what the celebrity/ spoke person does to make consumers keep on buying proactive. By telling then the story’s and hear famous people use proactive makes people want to but the product because they say if someone important uses it. It must not do no harm Background/Target Market Proactiv is a brand of acne treatment and skin care products, it came out in 1995. It was developed by Drs. Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields who both studied at Stanford University medical school. After making the product, they were rejected by many distributors, before Guthy Renker to market the product/s. Proactiv is sold in different variations/ for different people and types of skin too. Some come in kits. It is not only for your face but for your body too. Although Proactiv is “one of the world’s largest producers and marketers of products for acne skin,” (facingacne, 2014), it is not meant for everyone and not everyone likes it. Since the beginning of this product some people have not been able to use this for reasons like it is too strong and that cause irritation to the skin (facingacne, 2014). I have also heard from a lot of people including family and that proactiv works for a while but it is worst once it comes back. Of course it just depends on the skin and the person, like I said above, so it is your choice to decide if you want proactiv or get another brand for your acne. There many ways you go with the target marketing (“a specific group of consumers at which a company aims its products and services”, (, 2014) in proactiv but my guesses are that girls in the U.S are the target for reasons I am about to explain.
