My vision was not to grow up and plan a wedding of my own filled with flowers and lace with classical music and butterflies. Typical does not, in any way, describe me. I actually made the decision to get into this field after planning my own wedding.I was a bride. A tattooed, pierced, body building, pit bull loving bride…but a bride all the same. I had visions of playing kick ball at my wedding reception. A Bar-b-que buffet dinner with a fruit short cake was absolute perfection. I wanted a gown with NO and I repeat NO ruffles, no flowers, no bubbles. I could handle lace but simplicity. I wanted to dance down the isle. Every time I turned around I was being scolded and told that it just wasn’t how a bride was to plan her wedding. That just was not how weddings were done. Brides didn’t wear ball caps. You couldn’t play kick ball. You couldn’t play rock music during the ceremony. You couldn’t give your children jewelry during the ceremony. A wedding had certain rules and regulations as did the reception. Each time my response was, “isn’t this my wedding? Shouldn’t it be whichever way that I want it to be?”This is what I say to potential clients as well as each client that I work with….it is your wedding. It is your reception. The only way to do it wrong is to defer from your vision because of the reservations of another. I am not here to like your choices. I am here to ensure that your wedding day is perfectly you!I am armed with 16 years of military and management experience which help with the coordination, planning, organization, and management which is necessary during this process. forget the groomWhen planning a wedding is all too easy for everybody to get involved in what the bride has planned…how the bride is doing…how the bride is doing with the plans….if bride has all of the attire and flowers picked out. It is important for both of the individuals getting married to be honored and to feel as if this is a special time in their lives. A few tips to help keep the groom feeling that “special feeling”Surprise the groom with a spa day. A massage, facial, and a cup of wine to keep the groom relaxed and feeling very loved.Mani/pedi for the groom. Take the groom for a mani/pedi day. Better yet….go with the groom. Relax together and remember your journey that got the two of you to this day and laugh together.Write a special note for the groom on the morning of your ceremony. Every groom knows just how busy every bride is the morning of the ceremony. Taking a few minutes to write a letter reminding the groom of your love and how much you cannot wait to meet at the altar would be a special touch for the groom.B Unique weddings and EventsHighest quality vendorsI work with the best of the best in the industry both in and out of our area.
