HYPERLINK "" Week 2 WEB-E. (Web Eval) 3458222472811Creating Proper Citations using URL: and Purpose: EasyBib is short for easy bibliography. According to EasyBib: “EasyBib is an intuitive information literacy platform that provides citation, note taking, and research tools that are easy-to-use and educational. EasyBib is not only accurate, fast, and comprehensive, but helps educators teach and students learn how to become effective and organized researchers. We cite according to the 8th and 7th ed. of MLA, 6th ed. of APA, and 16th ed. of Chicago (7th ed. Turabian). Many of our styles are powered by CSL, the Citation Styles Language from?, which are licensed under a?CC-BY-SA license.” Many students struggle with creating proper citations for bibliographies, this website is used to help generate the correct citation with the information the user inputs, generating a work cited page that can be downloaded once finished. The website is free for creating MLA8 and MLA7 work cited pages, for any other formatting styles EasyBib-pro has to be purchased for 9.99 a month. In order to create a citation the user will follow the step-by-step user friendly prompts to create a bibliography. The user can search for their source within the website and fill in any missing information EasyBib was not able to find, or a user can manually input information in the website. The website will generate the proper citation with the information provided or searched for by the user. If there are multiple sources EasyBib will prompt the user to continue to cite more sources generating a bibliography as citations are created. When the user is finished and all sources are generated by the website properly cited in alphabetical order, the user can download the full bibliography to either a word document or google doc. Personal Evaluation: I highly recommend. From high school to graduate school, I have personally use this website for my own work. Not only do I use EasyBib, but I along with our school’s entire English department teach our students how to use this website to help them work in a more efficient manner when writing a paper. Using Kathy Schrock’s 2012 Critical Evaluation of a Web Site, EasyBib copyrighted for 2019 was created in 2001 by Chegg is highly connected to curriculum. EasyBib is partnered with WroldCat, CREDOreference, SBM (studybreakmedia). All the items under part 1: technical and visual aspect are marked yes. Students are taught to utilize EasyBib to demonstrate the targeted skill of creating a properly formatted bibliography. All students practice this skill in an authentic format. Immediate feedback is generated once information is input on the website. EasyBib does not necessarily meet all aspects of part 4: pedagogy. The website does not offer much differentiation in order to meet student needs. EasyBib is user friendly, large icons, prompts, color coded and simple in design with minimal wordage. Part 2: content is indicative, up-to-date and from my perspective, does not appear to be biased. If given the choice students, teachers, administrators I believe would choose this website over any other, because Easydid is reliable and consistent. I strongly believe and can testify that based on my own students’ work they score better on their work cited page when they use EasyBib compared to other students who type up their work cited page themselves. ................
