EMERGENCY LIGHTING AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

General:

All Police Emergency equipment must be installed by Certified Emergency Vehicle technicians who have been factory trained by the specified manufacturer. Contractor will consult with project manager as to final placement of items and programming of system. The contractor shall furnish and install the specified equipment. All labor, shop supplies, and equipment shall be provided for a fully functional system on each vehicle at time of delivery. Installation work shall be done on the Island of Oahu, under the supervision of the Officer in Charge.

Scope of work:

The installing subcontractor shall provide initial installation / programming of equipment. Post installation local warranty service on the aftermarket emergency lighting and siren equipment specified during the manufacturers printed warranty period for equipment installed. All LED modules shall have a 5 year printed warranty.

The following items must be installed and provided:

Whelen CenCom Carbide CCSRN4A w/ CANCTL6 control head shall be provided and installed. Whelen SA315P w/ Compatible SAK Series mounting bracket for vehicle being provided. Contractor shall consult with officer in charge before installation to discuss functions and programming. All functions shall be inspected and verified before vehicle acceptance. Contractor shall provide after delivery programming support for future upgrades and/or changes at no charge to the State for as long as the vehicle remains in service.

Whelen Front Inner Edge FST WeCan ISFW series (12) Lamp DUO RED/WHT driver's side, DUO BLU/WHT pass side, full WHT flood capable. Contractor shall provide custom fabricated brackets if direct fit is not available for vehicle being offered. Fabricated brackets shall mount lighting fixture as close to the glass as possible to minimize flashback. Two (2) end lamps on each side shall be capable of low level steady burn CRUISE function.

Whelen VTX Red driver and VTX blue passenger LED inserts to be installed in rear third brake light housing.

Whelen I2D & I2E light heads, (1) each DUO RED/WHT & BLU/WHT shall be installed in the front grille, custom brackets as needed to place light heads for maximum performance.

Whelen VTX clear LED inserts to be installed inside the reverse light housing.

Contractor to furnish and install three (3) Whelen TLIR and (3) Whelen TLIB LED lightheads to be installed on front fenders, rear fenders and rear tailgate.

Contractor shall furnish and install a Havis C-2400 equipment console, custom mounted and fitted to house integral OEM components. Shall include equipment mounting brackets for Whelen siren and DLNR radio control head, C-CUP2 internal cup holder, Kussmaul USB charger and (2) C-LP2 lighters. (2) Magnetic Mic holders. Filler plates to cover the remaining space.

Contractor to furnish and Install Havis C-HDM telescopic mount with HDM floor bracket for vehicle being offered. Shall include C-MD-102 motion device and UT-1001 mounting plate, LPS power supply for Agency designated computer, wired to a CG-X timer.

Contractor shall furnish and install Sti-Co Industries GLMT-DB-VHF/7-800 glass mount antenna and install DLNR provided Harris Unity mobile radio - per officer in charge instructions. Contractor shall provide programming per DOCARE instructions at no charge.

Due to the technical complexity of the required installation, the officer in charge reserves the right to request document(s)/certification(s) to display the contractor's competency in automotive/low voltage electronics/two-way radio communications. Due to the required programming for the Whelen Carbide system, officer in charge reserves the right to request up to (3) previous Whelen CanTrol/Carbide project departments to inquire about contractor's performance.
