The Chinese, Taiwanese and Hong Kong markets are some of the most important developing markets for RATIONAL. Of course the RATIONAL philosophy of “offering people working in professional kitchens the maximum possible benefits” also applies here.

In China, Taiwan and Hong Kong food is often steamed. Traditional food often requires maximum steam saturation. In steamers and combi-steamers an external steam generator is required to achieve maximum steam saturation. This means traditional steamed products such as rice or fish are not possible in equipment with direct injection systems where water instead of steam is injected into the cabinet.

In order to steam in the RATIONAL SelfCooking Center® even quicker and more intensely, we have developed a special „Power Steam“ function which will be in all SelfCooking Center®, from …07.2010.

The RATIONAL SelfCooking Center® is the only multifunctional cooking appliance that can steam traditional Chinese dishes such as (Garouper) or rice.

„POWER STEAM“ is automatically activated in the cooking processes „steamed rice“, „steamed fish“ and „steamed vegetables”. In the manual steam setting “POWER STEAM” is now default. By a change in temperature (lower or higher) the SelfCooking Center® reverts back to previous steam saturation levels.
