Ask your child to choose a card. E.g. 2. Your child then needs to say the number that matches that card to make 8. So, they would say “6”. Repeat with other cards. Use counting strategies and resources to assist (pasta, lego, any toys/resources you have).1 – Number bonds to 8 - Your child will need a dice. Roll a die. Write this number down e.g., 6 and work out how much more is needed to make 8 using fingers to help where necessary. Write the corresponding number sentence, e.g. 6 + 2 = 8. Roll the die and repeat again.2 –Add a single digit number to a 2-digit numberYou will need a dice and 1-100 grid (Resource sheet 134). Choose a number from the 1-100 number grid. Write that number down. Roll the die. Add that number to your number. Write down your number sentence and record the answer. Write the doubles number sentence underneath fish.1 - Find doubles to 6Write out the numbers 1-6 on separate cards. Ask your child to choose a card. When they have picked a card they need to shout out what double that number is. For example, if they chose 3, they would shout “double 3 is 6”.
