UPCOMING SERMONS: Next Sunday will conclude the 4-part series on Advent with sermon “A Peaceful Heart,” Isaiah 9:6-7, Luke 2:12-20 on 12/18. Come and worship with us as we prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Next Sunday 12/18 is the Children’s Christmas Pageant “A Christmas Alphabet” during 10:00 a.m. worship. All children are invited to participate! If possible, please arrive at 9:00 a.m. for dress rehearsal.
Installation of New Elders and Deacons will take place during worship next Sunday, December 18th.
Advent Celebration and Caroling TODAY from 4:30-6:00 at DeBows Methodist Church. All are invited – come make Christmas ornaments, eat a meal, and enjoy a time of fellowship. The meal will be potluck – please bring a salad, pasta dish, or Christmas cookies. If you would like to sponsor an ornament for all to make, please talk to Pastor Courtney or Kristen DiGirolamo. At 6:00pm, all are welcome to go Christmas caroling to shut-ins in the local Jackson area.

Stewardship – We have received 33 pledges since Stewardship Sunday. It’s not too late! Please consider pledging your gifts of time and treasure for 2012. Forms are available on the back tables on Sunday morning.

Women’s Bible Study meets on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 – Noon at the home of Elizabeth Hughes and led by Pastor Courtney. The women have just started a new Beth Moore study called Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophesy. This Tuesday 12/13 we will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the home of Joyce Connelly (10 Turnberry Place, Westlake) for a Christmas breakfast prior to our study. Bring a $10 wrapped gift for a White Elephant exchange. For more information contact Pastor Courtney.

Men’s Bible Study will now meet on Tuesday evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the home of Bob Wegner, 413 Leesville Road, Jackson. The next meeting is Tuesday December 13th. They are studying the book of Philippians.

CHRISTMAS AT CORNERSTONE: Christmas Eve Services will be at 7:30 p.m. (Nativity Service) and 8:45 p.m. (Candlelight Communion Service) at St. Aloysius Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road. If children would like to participate in the nativity scene during the 7:30 service, please arrive by 7:15 for costumes. Christmas worship will be a joint service at Jackson Methodist Church, 68 Bennetts Mills Road, at 10:00 a.m. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite gift! On New Year’s Day, January 1, we will have regular 10:00 a.m. worship at McAuliffe (no children’s Sunday School this day).
OUR THANKS TO THE CHURCH LADIES The poinsettia sale earned $175 for our church! Thanks to the Church Ladies for their hard work in organizing the sale, and for helping to make the worship space look beautiful!
YOUTH GROUP – join us on Sunday evenings at DeBows Methodist Church. This group is open to 6th – 12th graders! Bring Friends! Tonight, the Youth will go Christmas caroling to local shut-ins at 6:00 p.m. after the Advent Celebration. On 12/18 the Youth have their Christmas Party at the Calhoun’s home (4 Dolphin Court, Jackson) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There will be a cell phone scavenger hunt, memory game, and white elephant gift exchange (bring a wrapped $5 gift). Talk to Pastor Courtney for more information on Youth Group.
Living Nativity at DeBows is Saturday, December 17th at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. All are invited! Children or adults are welcome to participate - please arrive by 5:30 for angle or shepherd costumes.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to lead Children’s Church Please sign up to help our children grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord during Children’s Church. There is an easy to use curriculum and crafts available. Children are welcome to stay to worship with their families in the 10 AM worship service, however some of them prefer to attend Children’s Church. The ages of these children are 8 and under. Please let Pastor Courtney know if you are available to help lead during December/January.
