Job Summary

Heartland Church is seeking an experienced Accountant who Loves God, Loves People, Pursues Excellence and Chooses Joy! The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail oriented, with a mindset to deliver superior service to internal and external customers. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Revenue processing & reporting, expense analysis, credit card management, and month & year-end closing. The ideal candidate has 3 or more years of non-profit accounting experience with an Accounting degree.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of the online giving process.

• Leads cash count and processes revenue for weekend services.

• Processes misc. revenue and prepares all revenue reporting.

• Weekly bank deposits.

• Generates giving reports at year-end and on demand.

• Manages online credit card payment process including reconciling and posting JEs.

• Project tracking, including Fixed Assets.

• Revenue & Expense Analysis.

• Month & Year-End close and Budget processing.

• Prepares JEs in ACS accounting software for all areas of responsibility.

• Ability to Master ACS Accounting & CCB Giving software.

• Supports and Backup for Accounts Payable.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing general accounting responsibilities (non-profit accounting experience a plus).

• Demonstrated evidence of spiritual maturity.

Competencies/Abilities/Skills Required

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and other related software applications.

• Above average ability to be flexible, organized, manage time and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines.

• Superior verbal and written communication skills (grammar and writing).

• Excellent customer service skills; able to communicate in a professional manner.

• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter as well as a team player with the ability to cultivate a team spirit within the operations area and the church.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and see tasks to completion; excellent attention to detail.

• Understanding of confidentiality of financial issues and materials; ability to act with discretion and maintain confidential information.
