Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers and Greeters) are the Welcoming Committee/Ambassadors of our church and are very often the first persons one meets upon arrival for services.? The Hospitality Ministry is a great opportunity to meet parishioners while serving a vital service in the performance of the Mass. Responsibilities of a Minister of Hospitality (USHER) include:Arrive at least 15 minutes before time for mass to startGreet and welcome the community as they gather for worship. Ministers of hospitality are at the main entrance of the churchAssist with the seating of the assembly before the liturgy beginsCollect the offerings of the people. Both the people and the offerings are to be treated with utmost dignity and reverence. The people should be given adequate time to deposit their gifts during the collectionPlace money and envelopes collected in the collection bag and seal it. Place the bag in the basket to join the processionAppoint and assist those who will be taking up the gifts in the procession for the Preparation of the GiftsBe aware of the placement of first aid supplies and an emergency telephone if the need should ariseMinisters of hospitality distribute the parish bulletins and any other pertinent materials at the conclusion of the liturgyBe available to assist those with special needs. Assist in preparing the worship space for the next liturgy, making sure it is well organized and invitingIf you are unable to serve on your scheduled date please contact the coordinator or find a substitute. ................
