Tony Brown is a senior advisor at the Watts Consulting Group.

As a senior advisor, Tony directs major financial services projects for the firm. Tony T. Brown has a distinguished record of achievement as a banker and leader in the field of community development finance. In March 2004, Mr. Brown was named President & CEO of the Uptown Consortium. The Uptown Consortium was formed by the chief executive officers of Uptown's five largest employers: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, The Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, TriHealth, Inc. and University of Cincinnati. The Consortium is dedicated to the revitalization of Uptown, which generally includes the neighborhoods of Avondale, Clifton, Clifton Heights, Corryville, Mt. Auburn and University Heights.

Previously, Mr. Brown served as Director of the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, a government-owned corporation at the United States Department of Treasury, from August 2001 to March 2004. Brown was nominated to serve as director of the Fund by President George W. Bush. During his tenure, the CDFI Fund made a significant contribution to creating jobs and stimulating economic growth in our nation's low income communities. Brown successfully implemented the $15 billion New Markets Tax Credit Program.

Mr. Brown began his career in banking in 1982. In 1985, he joined Bank of America in Florida through the acquisition of Barnett Banks, Inc. From 1990 to 2001, he was the Senior Vice President of Community Development for Bank of America in Jacksonville, Florida. His tenure at Bank of America included a number of senior management positions in community development. Mr. Brown's leadership helped the bank to achieve over $2 billion in annual loan production and "Outstanding" ratings in Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance for Barnett Bank. Under his leadership, the bank was recognized as the leading large bank producer of Small Business Administration loans in 1995 and 1996.

Mr. Brown's involvement in community and economic development is quite extensive. He currently serves on the Federal Reserve Board of Governor's Consumer Advisory Council. His present board memberships include the national New Markets Tax Credit Coalition, Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, Downtown Cincinnati, Inc., Cincinnati Park Board Advisory Group and the Talbert House. Brown is an advisor to several University of Cincinnati programs: Member of the President's UC|21 Strategic Planning Council, Institute for Policy Research and the University's School of Real Estate Executive Advisory Council. Brown is a past member of the United Way of Cincinnati's Vision Council; and he served previously as a director at the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Suncoast Chamber of Commerce (AfricanAmerican business group), Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and the Black Business Investment Board in Palm Beach County, to name just a few.

His commitment and advocacy for community and economic development has been recognized by many organizations. He has been honored by the United States Secretary of Treasury, John Snow,

in appreciation for "contributions to the effective and efficient operations of the Department of Treasury;" JM Family Enterprise as an AfricanAmerican Achiever in Business; Business Leader of the Year Nominee by the Palm Beach Post; Banker of the Year by the Miami-Dade Urban Bankers Association; and has received Community Service Awards from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Mr. Brown is a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs and Business. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife, Lawanda and daughter Savannah.
