c. Yolo Youth Opportunity Council – Janis Holt

No report at this time.

15. Other Business That May Come Before the Board

Kevin Ferreira attended the recent West Sacramento City Council Meeting, and talked with the Mayor about the new hotel and community center. They are still in negotiations on the contract; but because of the arena in Sacramento, the Marriott Hotel went from an 8 story hotel to a 30 story hotel. That will be a lot of work in West Sacramento.

Diane Parro shared that there is a proposal for a 7 story hotel in Davis; and for two hotels in Winters.

Lisa Vincent reported the WIA budget went to the Board of Supervisors last week and it was approved. The contract is in the process of being signed and submitted to the state.

The 5 year plan was approved by the WIB at the last meeting, Ken has signed it and now it is on its way to the Board of Supervisors for approval and signatures.

We submitted a letter to the state yesterday for the Youth RFP, stating that it is DESS’ intention to continue to provide youth services until the issue is resolved. DESS will continue serving out of school youth at this point until we hear from the state.

16. Adjourn

Janis Holt moved to adjourn, Art Rodriguez 2nd.
