PERSONNEL SPECIALIST/APPLICATIONS

Job Title: Personnel Specialist/Applications Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Reports to: Coordinator for Classified Staff & Pay Grade: AS Pay Grade 4

Primary Purpose:

Provides clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the human resources office. Post district jobs and maintain applicant data utilizing Skyward-FastTrack HR application system.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to use personal computer and software to maintain spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations

• Ability to answer multi-line phones

Experience

• Two years clerical and file maintenance experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Post openings on district web site and other applicable job sites.

2. Deliver support to end users of Skyward’s Fast Track HR Application System within organization.

3. Responsible for providing first level customer support from HR in troubleshooting, tracking, and resolving issues related to the HR application system.

4. Work with IT Department on identifying recurring issues and determined root cause analysis.

5. Run queries and print applications from the online application system.

6. Maintain applicant data by performing routine maintenance and monitoring system performance.

7. Prepare and distribute job vacancy announcements and advertisements.

8. Register district personnel to attend external job fairs; order supplies and process payments.

9. Perform secretarial duties for the Coordinator for Classified Staff & Student Services.

10. Perform clerical duties for the drug testing program manager.

11. Submit criminal background check for Student Employees.

12. Prepare and maintain databases and spreadsheets.

13. Maintain computerized files using personal computer.

14. Assist with the preparation of employee handbooks and directories.

15. Prepare correspondence, forms, records, and reports using computer.

16. Provide clerical assistance as needed.

17. Maintain confidentiality.

18. Other duties as assigned.
