Dear Families,

The following is a guideline of what activities the students can do during this period of emergency school closing. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Garcia-Gomez on Class DOJO or email me (mgarcia-gomez@)

• Students should log on to Clever to access Zearn, Castle learning, i-ready, Mystery Science, and others apps to be able to learn a distance and complete assignments.

Math

• Students should log into on a daily basis and complete lessons.

• They should do one lesson a day, starting with Module 4.

• Students should also complete the workbook pages in their Learn and Succeed books that correlate to the daily lesson. The lesson numbers are indicated on the top right hand corner of their workbooks and they should be familiar with this.

• Students should log on to Castle Learning to complete the assignments. New lessons will be added as they days go by.

• This work is intended to be used for review and continuity of instruction. Students should try their best to complete the assignments and use the hints given after an incorrect answer to help them improve their chances on a second attempt. Students should use paper and pencil to work out all questions. Please ask your child to show you how they arrived at their answers. Students should take their time to answer each question. All assignments are timed, and I will be able to see when and how quickly they are done.

• Students should not rush or be distracted with other devices while doing their work.

• Students should work at own pace.

• Students can visit learnathome to do daily lessons. All work can be complete using their notebooks.

• Stating March 23, students can visit i-Ready on clever to do daily lessons. All work can be complete using their notebooks. New lessons will be added as they days go by.

ELA

• Students should complete i-Ready packet. They should read the text assigned for each day and complete questions that follow for the text. Please follow the schedule for each day.

o Day 1: The Girl and the Apples

o Day 2: Sharing the Crops

o Day 3: Zel, the Gentle Donkey

o Day 4: A Bundle of Sticks

o Day 5: Brother and Sister

o Day 6: How the Bat Got Wings

o Day 7: True or False

o Day 8: Following the Stars

o Day 9: Baby Bird

o Day 10: Signs in the Sky

o Day 11: Anansi Trees to Steal All the Wisdom in the World

• After completing the above packet students should log on to Castle Learning to complete the assignments they already started in the classroom and some that were added. Please read all passages carefully. Read all questions and answer choices before selecting. If you get a question wrong, make sure to read the hints in order to have a better chance of getting it correct on the second attempt. Make sure to include text evidence when answering short response questions. Check your work for spelling, punctuation, and complete sentences.

• Students should read their Benchmark books/magazine and complete the packets. Benchmark is also available online.

• Students should read or watch informational videos every day and record it on the Reading Log. This could be any book they have at home or from the Bookflix and Trueflix apps on Clever. Username: ypsyonkers , Password: ypsyonkers for both apps

• Students can visit learnathome to do daily lessons. All work can be complete using their notebooks.

Social Studies

• “Comparing Maps” packet

• Students can log into Brain Pop through Clever and assignments will be posted.

Science

• “Hello, Roy G. Biv” packet

• Students should log into Mystery Science through Clever and focus on grade 3, “Spring Into Science” topics
