Dear First Grade Families,Attached you will find log in information to Clever. Clever is a secure portal that provides single sign-in for all applications available to your child. I am working on getting all the apps we use most often under “my class”, your patience is appreciated as this is new for me also. I will send you a video from our technology coach, Jim Gosser, explaining how to access Clever from home. On my personal website (via Albert Schweitzer), you can find a link to this video also. When you log in to any of the apps, please let me know if you have difficulties and I will assist the best I can. The following paragraphs give a bit of information about the apps/sites we use most often in G-4.Raz Kids can be used to support reading. Children are encouraged to use time on Raz Kids as some of their reading hours for 100 Book Challenge. Each child is assigned to specific levels that match their independent reading level here at school. Please encourage your child to spend time reading and not spend all their time with their robot or rocket room. I do have access to the site and will be able to remind students if too much time is spent off task. You can access Raz through Clever but I also attached the log in information for you if you choose to access differently.Freckle is an app that allows for differentiated instruction, one more way that we are working to meet each student where they are in their learning. In G-4 we will only be using the ELA portion of Freckle. Students will practice in the classroom during WIN and other small group instruction times.Your child can access Superkids On-Line Fun through the parent portal that you were invited to access. I have attached the letter that was sent given at back to school night and attached your child’s picture password to it. Superkids is not available via Clever.I-Ready is an online program for mathematics that will support your child’s needs, personalize their learning and monitor progress throughout the school year. I-Ready allows us to meet your child exactly where they are and provides data to increase your child’s learning gains. Students can follow “My Path” for individualized activities and/or access math games to practice fluency skills.Students also have continued access to Dreambox. Similar to I-Ready, Dreambox meets your child exactly where they are in their learning and is a great way to continue to practice math skills. is an introduction to computer science. The students will learn basic computer programming, higher-order thinking, logic and multi-step problem solving, and creativity and perseverance. I visited each of these sites briefly with the class here at school, with the exception of . The students are familiar with the sites but may need some time to become more comfortable.
