Instruction emphasizes reading comprehension, writing fluency, and vocabulary study through the use of a variety of literary and informational texts encompassing a broad range of text structures, genres, and levels of complexity. If teacher is not in classroom, students are not allowed inside. Once given permission to enter, sharpen pencil, turn in homework, and begin bell ringer work immediately and quietly.Turning in work: Assignments are to be put in the tray that corresponds to your class. Always double check tray.Heading papers: Always head your paper before you begin your work. Follow template provided by the teacher.Borrowing supplies: You may borrow supplies from teacher as long as they are returned promptly. If the teacher notices a pattern of being unprepared for class, no supplies will be provided.Sharpening pencil: Pencils should be sharpened before class starts. If you need to do so during class, raise your hand and ask for permission.Throwing Things Away: Same policy as sharpening pencils.Technology: No cell phone allowed in class. All technology should be kept on silent mode and out of sight. If it rings during class, it will be confiscated. If asked to take a devise out for instructional use and devise is being used for social media, pictures, games, etc. it will be confiscated and given back at the end of the day (First offense). (Second offense: detention or office referral)Dismissal: The bell doesn’t dismiss you: The teacher will. When the bell rings, you must wait to be dismissed. The sooner everyone is quiet and seated, the sooner you will be dismissed. Passes will not be provided if being tardy is behavior related.Leaving Classroom: In order to leave classroom, you must have your agenda present in classroom. Agendas are not to be shared. You must fill in the agenda, and once you have been given permission to leave, you must sign out on the log near the door.
