COVID-19 Preparedness Plan for Brennix Gymnastics AssociationBrennix Gymnastics Association is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all our workers and customers/gymnasts. To ensure we have a safe and healthy workplace, we have developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Managers and workers are all responsible for implementing this plan. Our goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our workplaces and communities, and that requires full cooperation among our workers, management and customers/gymnasts. Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of our workers and workplaces. Management and workers are responsible for implementing and complying with all aspects of this COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. Brennix managers and supervisors have our full support in enforcing the provisions of this policy. Our workers and our families are our most important assets. We are serious about safety and health at Brennix Gymnastics for all involved. Worker involvement is essential in developing and implementing a successful COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. We have involved our workers in this process by giving them detailed steps in maintaining a continued safe and healthy environment. Supplying them with the necessary cleaning/disinfecting aids they will need and having clear and visible aids to help them maintain social distancing protocols. Our COVID-19 Preparedness Plan follows Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines, federal OSHA standards related to COVID-19 and Executive Order 20-48, and addresses: ? hygiene and respiratory etiquette; ? engineering and administrative controls for social distancing; ? cleaning, disinfecting, decontamination and ventilation; ? prompt identification and isolation of sick persons; ? communications and training that will be provided to managers and workers; and ? management and supervision necessary to ensure effective implementation of the plan. Our retail area will have addressed: ? protection and controls for pick-up and drop-off; ? protections and controls for in-store shopping; and ? communications and instructions for customers. Screening and policies for employees exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19 Workers have been informed of and encouraged to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. The following policies and procedures are being implemented to assess workers’ health status prior to entering the workplace and for workers to report when they are sick or experiencing symptoms. Workers should ask themselves if they have had any symptoms of COVID-19 that can’t be explained by another health condition or been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 since the last time they were at work. If a worker answers Yes to any of these questions they are asked to stay home: Do I have a new fever over 100 F or felt feverish (child, shaking with chills)?Do I have a cough that cannot be explained?Am I experiencing any shortness of breath?Do I have a sore throat?Do I have muscle aches?Do I have a headache?Have I had a loss of taste or smell?Have I had contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19?Brennix has implemented leave policies that promote workers staying at home when they are sick, when household members are sick, or when required by a health care provider to isolate or quarantine themselves or a member of their household. We will then follow the protocol for quarantine provided by the CDC and MN Department of Health. Workers that are either ill or have underlying health conditions or who have household members with underlying health conditions have been instructed to quarantine and apply for MNUI until they are able to attend work.Brennix has also implemented a policy for informing workers if they have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 at their workplace and requiring them to quarantine for the required amount of time. They are instructed to apply for MNUI benefits until they may return to work. In addition, a policy has been implemented to protect the privacy of workers’ health status and health information. Anyone who was in contact with an infected person will be notified of the contact but will not be given names or times of the interactions. Handwashing Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at our workplaces at all times. Workers are instructed to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently throughout the day, but especially at the beginning and end of their shift, prior to any mealtimes and after using the toilet. All customers and visitors to the workplace will be required to wash or sanitize their hands prior to or immediately upon entering the facility. Hand-sanitizer dispensers (that use sanitizers of greater than 60% alcohol) are at entrances and locations in the workplace so they can be used for hand hygiene in place of soap and water, as long as hands are not visibly soiled. Every person will need to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building. Each gymnast will have their own hand sanitizer bottle that will travel with them throughout their workout. This will ensure they have easy access whenever they may need to sanitize. There will also be several hand sanitizer locations throughout the building for workers and gymnasts.Wash rooms will be available to wash hands with soap and water if hands become soiled for any reason and for maintaining good hand hygiene throughout the workday and training time. Door that can be propped open will be. Door handles will be wiped and cleaned after uses if unable to leave open. The facility will have signage for proper handwashing etiquette located in each bathroom. Respiratory etiquette: Cover your cough or sneeze Workers, customers and gymnasts are being instructed to cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to avoid touching their face, in particular their mouth, nose and eyes, with their hands. They should dispose of tissues in provided trash receptacles and wash or sanitize their hands immediately afterward. Respiratory etiquette will be demonstrated on posters and supported by making tissues and trash receptacles available to all workers, customers and gymnasts.Easily accessed tissues and trash receptacles will be available throughout the building. Proper cough/sneeze etiquette posters will be hung throughout the building where easily seen. Each gymnast will have a small pack of tissues and a small garbage in their travel bin to ensure easy access and proper disposal of waste. If hands or clothing are soiled due to a sneeze, individuals will be directed to the wash rooms to properly clean and then disinfect their hands and clothing. Social distancing Social distancing of six feet will be implemented and maintained between workers, customers and gymnasts in the workplace and training areas through the following engineering and administrative controls: Drop offs will be done at the front door drive through style. Gymnast will need to stay in their vehicle until it is their turn to be checked in. Gymnasts should have a mask on while checking in. Gymnasts will only be allowed to enter after having temps checked and a questionnaire answered. If no fever and all questions are answered no, they may enter. Upon entering, each person must either go directly to the wash rooms or use hand sanitizer to continue into the training area. We will start by having classes and instruction of no more than 10 in the training area at a time. Each person will have a designated and easily seen area mapped out for their personal belongings upon arrival. In this area each gymnast will have a sanitized bin to put water bottles, grips, braces and other personal belongings they will need at events. This bin will also contain a personal hand sanitizer bottle, tissues, and small waste bin. Each bin will maintain safe distancing protocol. Each event will have no more than 4 gymnasts with one coach. There will be designated boundaries with visible markings to aid in proper social distancing guidelines. Each gymnast will have personal space marked out to complete their workouts. Shared spaces will only be used immediately after sanitizing the area and hands. Coaches will provide mostly verbal coaching and will maintain social distancing guidelines. When coaches do need to step in and spot a skill, they will wear a protective mask when safe, and will sanitize hands before and after contact with a gymnast. Water bottles and personal items will be contained to gymnast’s bins and will be a safe distance apart. Breaks will be taken in designated areas that clearly mark social distancing guidelines. No one will be allowed to enter the training area unless part of the group currently training. Event training areas will be thoroughly disinfected after each training segment and before a new group is allowed in the area. All bathroom/wash rooms will be disinfected after each use. One customer/gymnast may be in the office area at a time with one staff member. They will be able to purchase goods or sign up for classes. They will be required to stay a safe distance away from the office worker and will have an area clearly marked that they may not pass. All transactions will be done by credit card through the parent portals. You may read off your card information for the office worker but no items should transfer between people. An office worker will be present to make sure not more than one person is in the office area at a time and that no persons other than designated workers or gymnasts shall enter the training area.Questions and communications should be done through email as a first option and by phone if questions are not answered through email. Exiting the building will be through the side door to eliminate traffic through the building. Cleaning, disinfection, and ventilation Regular housekeeping practices are being implemented, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of work surfaces, equipment and areas in the work environment, including restrooms, office areas, training areas and drop-off and pickup locations. Frequent cleaning and disinfecting will be conducted in high-touch areas, such as phones, keyboards, controls, door handles, equipment and mats. Staff will be cleaning at the completion of each pod workout. We will have a designated 60 minutes between groups to carry out all necessary cleaning protocol. CDC recommended products will be used to disinfect surface throughout the building. We have checked our cleaning supplies against the EPA approved supplies. These are the cleaning agents we will be using on a regular basis:Disinfectant Spray and surface cleaner: 6836-365Germicidal Toilet and bathroom cleaner: 5741-11Hand Sanitizers or 60% or higher alcohol contentLysol Disinfecting SprayClorox Disinfecting WipesWe are also going to be trying to maximize the amount of fresh air circulating through the building. The front door to the office will remain open at all time of operation. Garage doors will be open as far as possible without disturbing the training area if at all possible. Fans will be used at door opening to push fresh air through the building when possible. There will be no internal vents used directed at workers or gymnasts to avoid stale air being pushed at them and circulating stale air. If a staff member or participant in any gym activities learns that he/she has tested positive for COVID-19, the participant or, if a child, the participant’s parent, should notify their coach or a manager as soon as possible.1. Management Will Contact the Participant/Parent:Obtain detailed information by asking the participant/parent the following questions:a. What date did the symptoms begin?b. Did you/the participant attend any activities 14 days prior to symptoms beginning up through your last day at the gym? If so, do you recall other participants/attendees at those activities?c. To the best of your recollection, what participants and employees have you/the participant been in close contact (within 6 feet) with during the 14 days prior to your symptoms starting? Please provide specific names if possible.d. To the best of your recollection, what areas of the building did you/the participant access within the 14-day window before symptoms appeared (gym areas, office rooms, printers, which restroom do you use, which building doors did they use).e. Did you/the participant visit any Brennix Gymnastics buildings in the 14 days prior to your symptoms starting? If so, what areas were you in? Were you at any specific area? What doors did you use to access the building?f. What equipment do you use that is also used by others?During the conversation, Management will also inform the participant/parent that:Per current CDC guidelines, they must not participate in any activities at the gym until the following have occurred:For participant who experienced symptoms and tested positive:It has been a minimum of 3 days (72 hours) since “recovery,” defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath): and at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.OR, the participant has received a negative follow-up COVID-19 test (contingent on availability of tests). For participants who had no symptoms but tested positive:It has been 10 days since their positive test and have had no subsequent symptoms. The participant must contact Management prior to their return to the gym.Brennix Gymnastics will notify potentially exposed participants and employees (identified in questions b & c) immediately.Management will reassure the infected participant or his/her parent that every effort will be made to protect their identity. They will not be identified by name as part of the notification process. The message to the potentially exposed individuals will be that they may have come into contact with someone at the gym who has tested positive for COVID-19.2. Immediately close off areas identified where the parent/participant identified as having been present. See sections below for guidance on disinfection.3. Communicate with Infected Participant’s Coach:What equipment did the infected participant use?Has the coach had close contact with the participant in the previous 14-day period?4. Contact the Applicable State Department of HealthWhile Brennix Gymnastics may not be required to contact any agencies, it is recommended to contact the applicable state department of health for guidance on necessary steps based on the agency’s assessment of the situation. Prior to contacting this department, we must have the answers to questions a through f above.Any guidance given by the department should be taken in to account when implementing this policy. If we cannot promptly reach someone immediately at the department of health, we may consider skipping this and moving forward with notifying identified participants/employees, and we should begin deep disinfection of identified areas within the building(s).5. Communication to Other Brennix Gymnastics Employees:Send out a communication on behalf of the team to notify other non-affected employees.6. Disinfection:Follow guidance provided by state department of health and CDC.Isolate potentially infected area where participant was regularly present until disinfection is completed.Wait 24 hours before disinfecting if possible, to minimize exposure of disinfection crew to droplets.Disinfect affected area per CDC disinfecting guidelines.Use a disinfectant solution with at least 70% alcoholCheck to ensure product is not past is expiration dateCleaning staff required to wear PPEOnce disinfection is complete, the area can once again be used. Communications and training This COVID-19 Preparedness Plan was communicated via email and posted in the office area to all workers on 5/29/2020 and necessary training was provided. Additional communication and training will be ongoing through email communications and provided to all workers who did not receive the initial training. Instructions will be communicated to customers and visitors about: how drop-off, pick-up will be handledhow we will ensure social distancing between the customers/gymnasts and workers; how required hygiene practices will be handledwhat steps we are taking to ensure clean and disinfected training spaces;safety practice for when and if you are experiencing symptoms or have contracted COVID-munications will be done through email, on our website and will be posted at drop off sites as well as throughout the building. Managers and supervisors are to monitor how effective the program has been implemented by having daily check ins with workers on staff that day. Management and workers are to work through this new program together and update the training as necessary.
