? Product directions for use ? Software to optimize the learning experience.
3. I received a software CD containing two programs to use with the Resusci Anne Simulator. Do I have to connect the PC in order to run the simulator?
No. One of the great features of the Resusci Anne Simulator is that you do not need to have a PC connected in order to realize its full potential in most training situations. It is designed to optimize true simulation by offering complete remote control functionality. As an added feature, the Laerdal PC SkillReporting System software is available for the user for a number of training benefits as follows:
1. Extensive Database Management ? Instructor and student details ? Training performance data can be logged, saved and retrieved for later review ? Data can be imported and exported
2. Hub system ? Control up to 8 Resusci Anne Simulators simultaneously from one PC ? Run common scenarios as part of the classroom training ? Monitor "real-time" scenario development and performance ? Control individual or multiple simulators from one PC
3. Debriefing features ? Student performance can be evaluated against to individual guideline preferences
A second program is provided called the Scenario Editor. The scenario editor allows the user to build their own training scenarios that can be customized to individual training protocols. These scenarios can then be uploaded to the simulator for customized training situations.
Note: see later section for more details about these software applications

4. I received an AC power adapter with the Resusci Anne simulator. Do I have to use AC power to operate the simulator? No. The power adapter is provided to allow the user this option if he or she does not need to run the simulator via battery operation.
5. How long can I run on batteries alone? The battery life of the 8 D-Cell batteries in the simulator's torso is completely dependent upon the use of the simulator. If all of the sounds, pulses, spontaneous breathing and voice features are used extensively the life of the batteries will vary. Internal testing has shown the battery life to vary between 30 and 40 hours of operation under normal use of the simulator's features.
6. What selections of heart, lung and vocal sounds are available with the Resusci Anne Simulator?
The following sounds are available with the Resusci Anne Simulator and can be controlled/introduced via the remote control unit:
HEART SOUNDS (Synchronized with programmable ECG) - Aortic Stenosis - Friction Rub - Austin Flint Murmur - Diastolic Murmur - Systolic Murmur - Mitral Valve Prolapse - Opening Snap - Normal
LUNG SOUNDS (Synchronized with breathing rate, 0 ? 60 breaths per minute with individual lung or bilateral sound selection)
- Normal - Crackles - Pneumonia - Stridor - Wheezes - Rhonchi - No sound
