WHIPPED BODY BUTTER

Materials 2.5 ounces coconut oil (approximately / cup) 2.5 ounces shea butter (approximately / cup) 2.5 ounces cocoa butter (approximately / cup) raw cocoa butter has a strong smell. Use refined cocoa butter instead if this is an issue for you. 2.5 ounces jojoba oil or sweet almond oil (approximately / cup) 2 teaspoons arrowroot powder (optional ? makes it not feel greasy on the skin 15-30 drops essential oils (add more if you like)

Instructions 1.In a double boiler or glass bowl, combine all ingredients except essential oils. 2.Bring to medium heat and stir constantly until all ingredients are melted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 3.Move to the fridge and let cool another 1 hour or until starting to harden but still somewhat soft. 4.Use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes until fluffy. Add essential oils and whip for another minute. 5.Store in a glass jar with a lid.

WHIPPED COCONUT BODY BUTTER

Materials 16 ounces coconut oil 10-30 drops essential oils (optional)

Instructions 1.Scoop coconut oil into a mixing bowl. 2.Break the coconut oil up into chunks. 3.Turn the mixer on high and whip the coconut oil. 4.Scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue to whip until all the coconut oil is soft and fluffy. 5.If you're going to add essential oils, do so at this time. 6.Scoop coconut oil moisturizer into storage container. 7.Use in place of lotion and body butter.

TONING COFFEE INFUSED BODY BUTTER

Materials 1/4 cup organic coffee beans 1/2 cup coconut oil 1/2 cup cocoa butter 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Instructions 1.Melt 1/2 cup of virgin coconut oil in a saucepan on low heat. 2.Add 1/4 cup of whole organic coffee beans. 3.Keep the oil on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4.Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the coconut toil from the coffee beans. 5.Melt the cocoa butter in a small saucepan over low heat. 6.Once the cocoa butter is melted, add olive oil and coffee infused coconut oil. Remove from heat. 7.Refrigerate the oils for 25-30 minutes, or until the oils just begin to solidify. 8.Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip the oils into butter. This will take 10-15 minutes to achieve a soft and fluffy texture. 9.Scoop the coffee body butter into a storage container and store in a cool dry place. Use daily on dry or problem areas.

COCONUT OIL LOTION BARS

Materials 2 ounces coconut oil 2 ounces beeswax or carnauba wax (vegan) 25 drops of essential oils (lavender & frankincense are my favorite oils to use)

Instructions 1.Heat coconut oil and beeswax together in a saucepan over low heat. It helps if you break up the beeswax into small chunks because it takes a while for the wax to melt. 2.Once the beeswax and coconut oil are melted add essential oils. I like to use vanilla and lavender. I'm sensitive to strong fragrances so I only add a few drops. 3.Pour melted coconut oil and beeswax into lotion bar molds or muffin tins. 4.Let them sit until cool. You can also place them in the refrigerator if you need to speed up the process. 5.This recipe makes 2 2-ounce lotion bars. Double or triple the recipe if you'd like to make more.
