ROBATHERM COFFEE PERCOLATORInstructions52235106540500Place the urn on the trolley in Building 6 and move the trolley close to a tap.Turn the lid of the percolator anti-clockwise to open and remove the coffee basket and percolator tube.Use a jug to fill the tank with water up to the ’60 Cup’ mark on the sight glass on the outside of the urn.3728720249618500Insert the joined basket & tube into the tank ensuring the flare at the base of tube sits into the hole at the bottom of the tank. The top of the basket should sit approximately 2-3 cm below the rim of the tank.Fill the coffee basket with 300g of ground coffee ensuring that the coffee is spread evenly across the basket. (See overleaf for other measurements with smaller groups.)Replace the lid of the percolator, turning it clockwise to secure it in place.Carefully wheel the trolley into place where morning tea is to be located at the auditorium.Percolation takes 30 minutes, so ensure the machine is turned on prior to the sermon.Connect the percolator to mains power. Press the power switch to the “On” position. Initially the red “Percolating” pilot light will illuminate.Eventually a cyclic gurgling noise will indicate that the process of percolation is occurring. Steam will squirt hot water upwards through the percolation tube and out over the coffee basket, draining through the coffee back into the water below.Eventually the water will reach approximately 88°C and the percolation will stop. The “Ready” light will activate indicating the coffee is ready to serve. The coffee will be kept warm whilst the “Ready” light is on.When the coffee gets so low that it is impossible to dispense from the tap the percolator should be turned off.Wheel the trolley back to the Building 6.Once cool, carefully lift out the coffee basket & tube. Dispose the old coffee granules into a bin and rinse the basket in the sink. Carefully tip the percolator over a sink to pour out the small quantity of coffee dregs still remaining in the tank. Rinse the tank and wipe clean. ................
