Lead Pastor, Gateway NorthSummary of PositionThe Lead Pastor, Gateway North, is responsible for leading and championing Gateway’s mission to “help unchurched people become a unified community of growing, multiplying Christ followers” at our North Austin location. The lead pastor will model the values of Gateway Church and will be an articulate advocate and communicator for the vision of Gateway Church, mobilizing the church to bring life and freedom of Christ to every people group in North Austin.The Lead Pastor will oversee 30 staff members and be responsible for the spiritual development of staff, volunteer leaders and the church body at their location, under the direction of the Senior Pastor. Position Responsibilities/FunctionStrategic Leadership Lead annual Gateway North location strategic plan goals in alignment with Gateway’s overall strategic plan, in conjunction with Ministry Director, Gateway NorthLead Gateway North staff to implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) each month, i.e. Inspire attendance for adults and kids, Baptisms, Connection to Life Groups, Serving, Commissioned and GivingLead North Campus team to accomplish a unified vision: one church, one mission, across multiple departmentsDevelop strategic opportunities to engage unchurched people within the community by mobilizing our church body through Networks to reach their neighbors and co-workersLead people through Gateway’s clear simple path from lost to leadingContinue to refine and oversee a comprehensive strategic plan to ensure intentional discipleship Participate on the Campus Pastor Team, setting church-wide strategy and teaching calendarProvide pastoral and strategic oversight and coaching to all ministry areas at Gateway North Act as a catalyst for new initiatives in support of Gateway’s visionVolunteer Leadership Develop and grow a missional core team of commissioned leaders that love lost people and are on mission with GatewayDevelop the leadership community for Gateway North by consistently casting vision and equipping and training these individuals through various methods (i.e. facilitate monthly leadership community to connect leaders, provide coaching leadership and spiritual development)Develop a volunteer- centric staff culture Staff and OperationsLead staff of approximately 30 people (directly and indirectly) Develop and train direct reports for leadership at the next levelRecruit, hire and develop a highly qualified and spiritually developed staff teamOversee location budget and reporting and be a wise steward of financial resourcesResponsible for ensuring all Sunday service Programming experiences are executed with excellence and in line with Gateway’s mission and visionAssist programming team with evaluation process during run-through and post-service debrief Teaching/Pastoral/Spiritual GrowthOn the teaching team rotation for Sunday Inspire services and 3rd Wednesday Worship services (amount of teaching varies depending upon teaching ability)Participate on the Programming Team to develop engaging and spiritually significant servicesOn rotation for pastoral functions (i.e. counseling, baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc.)Gateway Church Staff MemberAttend Lead Pastor meetings with Senior Pastor Participate, as needed, in all-church or all-leadership initiativesBeing “All In” at Gateway Church, as your church home, and being a commissioned member of the church body is a must.
