Letter of Recommendation Packet for Mr. Arreguin

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

It is very important to request letters of recommendation from your counselor and teachers with adequate time for them to write a strong letter, well before the deadline. I require students to give me this packet at least 20 working days (1 month) prior to the first application due date. Ask each teacher to give you their deadline.

Remember: I want to write the best possible letter for you, and I am able do so when you provide me with detailed information.

It’s best to fill out the form while on your computer so you can type it and not be constrained by space. If you choose to fill it out by hand, please be sure to write clearly.

The more complete and detailed information you provide, the stronger my letter will be. Anecdotal information that provides specific examples is always appreciated.

Please save and email the packet to me when you’ve completed it.

Most private schools want and require letters of recommendation.

Out-of-state public universities may or may not want or accept recommendation letters.

UC and CSU schools do not accept letters of recommendation, unless you receive a specific email asking you to submit one.

When you invite me, I recommend that you check the box “I waive my right to review my recommendations and supporting documents submitted by me or my behalf.” This helps ensure that colleges can trust that they have an honest recommendation.

Do this at and

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically limited availability of SAT/ACT testing. In recognition of this, the near-totality of schools nationwide have adopted test-optional policies for this application year. Not having test scores will NOT negatively impact your applications.
