Your transcript is your academic record with all grades that you have earned in grades 9-12. Your GPA (Grade Point Average) and Class Rank are also on the transcript. Colleges and military branches use your transcript along with other pertinent information to make decisions about your admissions/enrollment. Scholarship agencies also use transcripts to determine winners.How do I request a transcript? Seniors receive 3 free transcripts. Seniors who are requesting that transcripts be sent to Georgia colleges should complete the request in GA Futures. Students who need transcripts sent out of state should complete the Counselor Request Form (Northeast website) or send your counselor an e-mail. Can my sister/brother/friend who has graduated request a transcript from Northeast? No. Once students graduate, they no longer can request paper transcripts. After graduation, former students should request transcripts through their GA Futures account or through Parchment (Bibb BOE website).Should I create a GA Futures account? Yes. All students should create a GA Futures account. Why is GA Futures important? All high school students (grades 9-12) need a GA FUTURES account. GA Futures is a great resource for students to gain college information, apply for Georgia colleges, submit transcripts to colleges, etc… As a reminder, when submitting requests for transcripts to be sent to Georgia colleges, this should be done in GA Futures. How do I log into GA Futures? The website for GA Futures is . Complete the entire registration process. Students should enter their social security number and GTID as this will be necessary for enrolling in Dual Enrollment and when requesting that transcripts be sent to colleges. Please be sure to keep your log-in information (username and password) in a secure place. You will need this information throughout high school and possibly afterwards.What is Dual Enrollment (DE)? Dual Enrollment allows students to take college classes while still in high school. Starting with the 20-21 school year, ninth graders are not allowed to take DE courses. Tenth graders must meet high academic standards and testing requirements. Juniors and seniors must meet all college requirements before enrolling in DE. Schedule a conference with your counselor, if interested. Northeast has had students who have participated in DE at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), Middle GA State University, Wesleyan College, and Georgia Military College (GMC). Over the past few years, we have had students who have earned an Associates’ Degree and high school diploma at the same time.How do I enroll in Dual Enrollment (DE)? Students who would like to enroll in DE should meet with his/her counselor and a college advisor to ensure that all requirements are met. Parents should also participate in the meeting and grant permission. A GA Futures account and parental permission are required.Is it possible for me to graduate early? Yes. However, there are very strict requirements for students to graduate early. Students must meet ALL of the following requirements: (a.) achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (b.) have an overall attendance rate of 95% or higher (c.) complete a letter of intent at the BEGINNING of the 11th grade year (d) receive the principal and counselor’s approval***The letter of intent must be from the student and parent***When do I apply for financial aid? Seniors may begin completing the FAFSA October 1, 2020. Parents may use the previous year’s income tax documents. All students who plan to attend college should complete the FAFSA.Where do I find scholarship information? It is never too early to begin searching for scholarships. Counselors can provide scholarship information. Check the school’s website for scholarship sites and apps.How do I request recommendations? Students who need recommendations should submit a request (Counselor Request Form) 2-3 weeks in advance. Students should also attach an updated resume’. Please show the same courtesy to teachers, other school personnel or individuals of which you are requesting a recommendation. Please give proper notice and a resume’.Why is REMIND important? REMIND allows students and parents to receive valuable information. Seniors receive scholarship and college information on a regular basis.Is the SAT/ACT required? The University System of Georgia (USG) will waive test score requirements for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021 admission due to uncertainty about the scheduling of SAT/ACT testing during the COVID-19 pandemic. This temporary adjustment will allow students to apply for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021 admission without submitting ACT or SAT scores. Students must still meet all other admission requirements and must meet adjusted minimum grade point average eligibility thresholds for admission to each USG sector. Students with exceptionally high SAT/ACT scores may still want to submit them. The waiving of test scores may not apply to students who graduate in 2022 and afterwards. Some scholarships may require SAT or ACT scores.What will Georgia Colleges use to determine admittance? Prospective first year students must meet all other admission requirements, including satisfactory completion of the Required High School Curriculum and all other requested documentation. But, in the absence of ACT/SAT scores, institutions will make admissions eligibility decisions based on the materials that the student has submitted, utilizing a GPA threshold/ Freshman Index (FI).How do I request SAT/ACT and college fee waivers? Seniors should check their College Board account to see if testing/college fee waivers are in your account. Juniors and seniors may request ACT fee waivers. Seniors who do not have college fee waivers in the College Board account may request college waivers from the school counselor.Should I study for the ACT/SAT/ASVAB? Yes. All students should study before taking any test. Use study material from the testing sites. KHAN Academy is also another great resource. March 2 Success is a great resource to study for the ASVAB.Student Athletes and NCAA. How do I create an NCAA account? College-bound student-athletes should create an account for college sports eligibility at . Student-athletes must complete this account BEFORE counselors can approve the NCAA fee waiver and upload official transcripts. The CEEB Code (111945) mentioned below, will be needed to complete your account. What is the Northeast High School Code / CEEB Code? This code is 111945. This code must be used when completing registrations for the SAT, ACT, and NCAA. Some other agencies may ask for this code as well.How is the STAR STUDENT determined? The STAR STUDENT is the student with the highest SAT score who is also within the top 10% of his/her class. This student must also meet the national testing average. What if I am interested in going into the military? Students, especially juniors and seniors who are interested in the military should talk to a military recruiter and take the ASVAB.How do I request help? We realize that for some students, school is your haven. In fact, we know that some of you would much rather be at school than home. This means that our current situation could be causing you more stress and anxiety. If you are experiencing issues or hardships, let us know.
