Motion passesCONSENT AGENDAMinutes John Paton makes a motion to approve the minutes and the disbursements, Hetty Todd seconds the motion. Motion passesDisbursementsNON-AGENDA ITEMS – Mayor Gofforth asked the council what they would like to do about the mobile homes in town that are inhabitable. John Paton makes a motion that the Town sends the owners a letter, regarding the nuisance. Mike Tiedeman seconds the motion. Motion passes.Cally Gallegos explained to the council that she received the proposal from SGM. They will help the town with the GIS/Capital improvement plan. The Clerk has been working with DOLA on the plan DOLA will pay the fee. ANNOUNCEMENTS – Wanda announces the new owners of the Hitching post will have a Grand Opening on Friday. Delta County is planning flood plain mapping study and the Town of Crawford will be included in the study. Wanda announces spring cleanup is May 13-15 check the website for more information. United Methodist is having a craft fair Friday and Saturday, $5 for lunch, soup, bread, pop and dessert.OLD BUSINESS* Sidewalks and Parks- Wanda and Bruce explained that the Town budgeted the $58k for the sidewalk and fence replacement around the town park. Delta County donated $20000, we have $2000 from Cirsa that we can use and the Town still needs $18,925. Cally is still working to get some other funding, Gunnison Energy and Region 10. Wanda asks the council if they would like to cut out some of the project or would they like to use some of the Towns money and finish the project. Bruce added that we would never get a bid this low again. Wanda asks for the board members input. Mike Tiedeman states that it is to keep the public safe, Ralph Clark concurs. Hetty Todd, Jessica Hart, and John Paton agree that the Town needs to continue with the whole project and continue to pursue more funding. John Paton makes a motion that the Town complete the whole project and use the money that the Town has, Hetty Todd seconds the motion. Motion passes. The project will begin next week.NEW BUSINESS*Cedar and 92 Signs - it is suggested that the Town speaks to Steve Mock and let him know that he can park his trailer in the Town parking lot. People are concerned that there may be an accident at Cedar and Hwy 92 when that big truck and trailer are parked there. Bruce or Cally will try to speak to him.PUBLIC NON - AGENDA ITEMS Collenette Vervloet with Pioneer day’s committee and the Crawford Area Chamber talked about the Downtown meeting that she attended. She also stated that she was working with DMEA to install the flags on the poles where the Town puts up Christmas decorations. She also asked the Town for money to help the chamber install new signs in Crawford. She also asked where she could install a small sign in the park and Bruce asked if they could wait until the concrete project is complete. The Town will store the sign in the shop until it is ready to be installed. Sara with the NF Montessori asked if the school could place a 4’ x 8’ container out in front of the Town Hall. The council asked if she can comeback in September and ask again. The Town would like a little more information. Can it be put on skids so it can be moved around? The school would be responsible to keep the cans cleaned up and removed. Sara will return in September to discuss the recycle center.Public Works – Bruce explained where CDOT would be installing the ADA ramps. E Street and 92, Dogwood and Cedar and Hwy 92. They will eliminate the crosswalks from in front of the mad dog to the Hitching post and the one in front of the Town Hall. Brett Lubin from Comfort Home Services are installing the swamp coolers should be done by Friday. Bruce was injured on the job fixing a meter pit. H went to the ER to be checked out and thankfully the Dr. put his rib in place and told him to take it easy for a couple of weeks but could return to work. Bruce plans to fix the west side of the building where the water keeps running into the basement by adding window wells, liner and rocks. He will have the corrections facility helping with that project. Bruce thanked County Commissioner Mark Roeber for the money to help fund the sidewalk/wall replacement project. The water is flowing in and the waste water is flowing out.Board Members – John Paton has nothing to report regarding juvenile diversion.Jessica Hart – reported that the Easter Egg Hunt was a success and they will have another one next year. Hetty Todd asks Bruce if the street sweeper worksRalph Clarks announce the sheep dog trials in Hotchkiss May 10-11-12. Mike Tiedeman – Fire House Open House May 18th 2-4Clerk- Mayor’s Report – Wanda thanked Bruce and Cally for all the work that they do. Town attorney Bo is still working on Mobile home ordinance and the liquor license ordinance. Wanda asks Cally to research the work session meeting.
