Community Salem, Oregon's capitol, is the third largest city in the state, with a population of 150,252. Salem is situated in the center of the Willamette Valley 47 miles south of Portland. State government is the largest employer with approximately 13,000 full-time employees

School Sprague High School is one of six comprehensive high schools in the Salem-Keizer School District. The school population is drawn from a suburban-residential area representing a cross section of the Salem community. Sprague High School’s student body consists of about 93% Caucasian, 15% Hispanic, 2% Asian, 1% African/American, and 9% Native American Indian and other minority students.

Sprague is on a modified block schedule with eight periods on Mondays, periods one through four on Tuesdays/Thursdays, and periods five through eight on Wednesdays/Fridays. The year is divided into two 18-week semesters

Curriculum Advanced Placement: AP American Government, AP Art History, AP Biology, AP Calculus BC, AP English Literature, AP Environmental Science, AP European History, AP French, AP Music Theory, AP Psychology, AP Spanish Language, AP Statistics, AP U.S. History, and other subjects as arranged are taught at Sprague High School.

Honors: Honors classes are offered in Math, English, Science, and Social Science.

College Credit: College credit through Chemeketa Community College or other accredited colleges: Health Occupations I, Medical Terminology I & II, AP Calculus, Architectural Drafting, CAD II, III, IV, Mechanical Technology III, IV, Sports Medicine, Advanced Sports Medicine, and Computer Science I & II.

Grading A grade is recorded for each semester class. Grade point averages are unweighted.
