We will be summarizing stories and learning more prefixes. Students are still working on proper capitalization and punctuation when writing a sentence. Please be sure to reinforce these skills at home. Please be sure your child is reading each night for at least 20 minutes, as well as completing their homework packets. ?Math: In math, we are working on creating and solving?two-step word problems, equalities, and place value. We will also be studying the calendar and time. Please practice these skills at home! Ask your child what the date is each day. We are continuing to work on graphing and estimation.Science: We will be finishing up our Science unit on Forces. Students have studied magnets and what attracts to them. They have learned about the North and South Pole, as well as other aspects of magnetism. Social Studies: We will be starting a new Project Based Learning (PBL) unit on Famous Americans. Your child will be learning about the characteristics that make a community hero. They will take these attributes and examine how our Famous Americans exhibited them.
