FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

We wanted you to have this information (release is below) as soon as it became available, and hope it sparks an interest in a story and/or highlight listing.

With the economy in freefall, this year’s holiday season promises to be more challenging and stressful than we’ve seen in decades -- especially for seniors living on a fixed income. To help assuage the growing fear of financial insecurity, on top of the intensified feelings of loneliness and depression that accompany the holiday season for so many, Suzanne Roberts, creator and Emmy Award-winning host of Comcast’s nationally-televised daily and weekly information / entertainment show Seeking Solutions with Suzanne, offers viewers not only a temporary escape with her revealing interviews and fascinating guests, but also real-life solutions for common difficulties facing the over-50 population in today’s unstable world.

So how can Super Boomers get into the holiday spirit despite tightened budgets and continued bad news? According to Roberts, we need to ask questions, get involved with holiday history, and yes – even take a few extra minutes to turn those holiday leftovers into something new and exciting, which is exactly what she does, taking viewers on a month-long journey to learn everything from the history of Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular, to how to spruce up our homes on a limited budget, with special programming throughout the month of December.

One of the first nationally-televised daily and weekly information / entertainment shows targeted to a senior audience with a senior host, Emmy Award-winning creator Suzanne Roberts, Comcast's Seeking Solutions with Suzanne announces the December 2008 programming schedule for the show's five minute segments, broadcast three times daily (11:55pm, 1:55pm, and 3:55pm ET) on CNN Headline News, and weekly, 30-minute episodes on Sunday evenings at 6pm ET on The Comcast Network. Seeking Solutions is also now available to anyone with Internet access (whether or not a Comcast subscriber), via live web streaming on Sunday evenings at 6pm ET on .

Please let us know what you might want to do, and we'll be delighted to provide further information as well as facilitate any interviews. Thanks so much for your interest and consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

2-2-2-2 Seeking Solutions with Suzanne Celebrates the Holidays in December!

Surrounded by family and friends for the holidays, it’s hard for most of us to imagine where we’d be without them. Well, that’s exactly what thousands of Japanese-American families had to do throughout the Japanese-American Internment during and following WWII. On Sunday, December 7, Suzanne explores this historical tragedy with Terry Shima, Executive Director of the Japanese-American Veteran’s Association, and Grant Ichikawa, a WWII vet who was forced to live in an Internment camp. Then, Civil Rights activist and Brooklyn College professor Dr. John Hope Franklin visits Suzanne on December 11 to share his success story – from racial discrimination and inequality to Harvard Law School.

Sunday. December 14 through Saturday, December 20 is all about holiday and wintertime home decorations and preparations, from how to design on a budget, preserve and enjoy holiday leftovers, and even make a traditional comfort food that will warm you up on December’s coldest nights.

On December 14, Chef Robert Irvine visits Suzanne to whip up traditional English Shepherd’s Pie – a great way to use all of those left-over mashed potatoes! An English native, Irvine shows us how to traditionally prepare his homeland’s favorites. Then on December 15 and 16, Suzanne welcomes Colleen Healy, AAA Mid Atlantic Public Affairs Manager, and residential contractor Barry Seeney, to teach the safest and most energy efficient ways to prepare our cars and homes for the upcoming icy weather.

Then, with budgets so tight, how can we make our homes sparkle for holiday guests? Suzanne has the solution on December 17 and 18 with renowned interior designer Barbara Eberlein, who shows us how to make old rooms look brand new, combining a few dollars with items we already have around the house, like old family photographs. And then Suzanne helps us clean out all of those holiday leftovers when Chef Paul Dillon stops by on December 19 with some creative new recipes for leftover turkey.

Sunday, December 21 through Wednesday, December 31 segments highlight ways we can get motivated to keep our New Year’s resolutions, with Bob Griffiths, author of Do What You Love for the Rest of Your Life: A Practical Guide to Career Change and Personal Renewal who, on December 21 helps us discover what we truly love, and how to make it work for us. Then, Suzanne gets a first-hand, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of people who are truly doing what they love for a living – the musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra!

Of course, fitness will be on everyone’s minds after all the holiday indulgences. No worries -- from December 28 to December 31, Suzanne will be demonstrating movements sure to ward off those extra helpings of stuffing and slices of pie – the Lifetime Workout Series, featuring balance, endurance, strength and flexibility exercises for every age!

A two-time Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award-winner, Suzanne Roberts is a visionary pioneer who, recognizing the dearth of quality television programming for the over 50 audience, created Seeking Solutions with Suzanne in 2000 – and a brand new career for herself at the age of 80. And Roberts, known for her frank and in-depth interviews, has generated a loyal viewership that continues to expand.

Seeking Solutions with Suzanne can be seen in its five-minute format three times daily on CNN Headline News, now at 11:55am, 1:55pm and 3:55pm, and in its half-hour weekly format at 6 pm ET, Sundays, on CN8, The Comcast Network and on Comcast systems across the country as well as live on the web at (check local listings).
