Program Manager, Middle School Salary: $43,000Position Type: Exempt Reports To: Senior Director of Education Programs (Peace Community Center) & Director of Outreach (Trinity Presbyterian Church) Full-Time: 40 hours per week Departments: Education Programs - Hilltop Scholars and Bobcat Learning Center Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work or another closely related field Position Overview The Middle School Program Manager is responsible for co-developing, implementing and managing a rigorous school day and extended learning program model that ensures students from diverse backgrounds receive academic and social-emotional training, resources and strategies that contribute to academic growth, persistence and graduation from middle school to high school and beyond. Desired Qualities A strong leader with high values placed on relationships, accountability, and service A strategic thinker with abilities to teach, manager and implement engaging vision, all in a multi-cultural context and with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds A strongly held belief that all students can achieve academically, especially those from underrepresented communities Understanding of working or living in an urban or multicultural environment A passionate service-minded professional who values the impact of faith-based organizations serving communityPrimary ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership Oversees and implements an education program for up to 220 students in grades 6-8 to achieve the mission, goals and objectives of Peace Community Center’s education programs and Trinity Presbyterian Church’s Bobcat Learning Center Provides leadership to AmeriCorps service members to ensure:Proper enrollment of students who demonstrate academic need; Students receive meaningful one-on-one coaching Resources and enrichment opportunities are connected to students and families Coordinates and oversees an after school enrichment program by identifying workshop leaders, managing student enrollment, organizing snack distribution and coordinating targeted academic support Ensures accurate and consistent data is collected from school district and external partners in order to demonstrate impact and gainsLeads a team of AmeriCorps staff members to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives for both educational programs Identifies external partners and workshop leaders, in partnership with Jason Lee Middle School’s designated staff, to run three (3) 10-12 week enrichment experiences for the extended learning opportunity via the Bobcat Learning Center across these primary domains: Arts, STEM, Health and Fitness, Mindset and Social/Emotional Learning Designs and facilitates two a summer program for students in grades 6-8 for Peace’s Summer Academy and Trinity’s Camp Trinity Oversees the day-to-day operations of student enrollment, budget management and parent/community/student engagement Develops and maintains professional relationships with key middle school program partners Implements student engagement and retention efforts to ensure that student participation standards are achieved Oversees the program with a lens toward the YPQ model as a measure of success Attends staff meetings for both Peace Community Center and Trinity Presbyterian Church Supervision:Directs, monitors and trains AmeriCorps staff and external partners who will implement individualized student coaching and lead enrichment workshops respectively Ensures AmeriCorps and external partners receive well-structured and meaningful training aligned with program standardsBenefits: Peace Community Center offers a highly-competitive benefits package.
