Position Description

Title: Branch Manager

Reports To: VP, Retail

Department: Retail

Positions Supervised: Member Service Associates and Head Teller

Status: Exempt

Location: Canton, OH

Position Summary

Manage your branch based on the three key drivers: Sales, Coaching, and Team Management. Strategize and develop employee engagement and member engagement to build the best financial institution in your community.

Essential Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position, and are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned:

1. Enthusiastically supports the credit union’s focus on member sales and service

• Actively seeks out consultative sales opportunities and cross-sell opportunities and promotes credit union products and services based on member needs

• Consistently meets or exceeds sales goals to support overall credit union financial goals

2. Promotes and strives to create a world class experience for members.

3. Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations

4. Evaluate and strategize around the P&L for the branch

5. Execute policies and procedures for the branch. Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies

6. Evaluate the job performance of branch office staff to ensure quality of work and service to members, recommend salary increases

7. Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, cross sell, and new accounts

8. Monitor key products and sales within branch to ensure profitable and sound business practices and a high quality of service for members

9. Manage the security and safety of the branch. Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis, ensure staff receives ongoing training on security, safety, and robbery procedures

10. Ensure that staff receives on-going training and development

11. Schedule adequate staff to ensure efficient branch operation

12. Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing loan applicants and obtaining credit bureau reports. Verify debts and income, and determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans. Determine approval or provide solutions to find a way to enhance a member’s credit. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved

13. Monitor branch operations to ensure a consistent, professional approach

14. Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems

15. Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch. Train employees to maximize opportunities for cross-selling products

16. All other duties as assigned

Department Management

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading by example by creating an environment where employees are recognized for the positive impact their work has on Buckeye State Credit Union. They are responsible to motivate, coach, counsel, train, and develop their employees through written communication, performance reviews, and regular feedback.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a standard computer. Employee may be required to sit for an extended period of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, and copy/fax machines. Noise level is usually quiet.

Location and Hours of Work

This position will be based in the Canton, OH area; however frequent travel throughout the state may be required. The hours of this job are standard, and related to the needs of the membership and business flow.

Compensation

This is a salaried position; compensation will be based upon qualifications and performance relative to pre-established goals and objectives. Compensation includes quarterly incentive based on loan production and a separate annual profit sharing bonus.
