Most weeks we start with an Introduction and talk about any urgent business that arose from the previous week/s. When you arrive please initial the attendance form. Can new members please put your full name on this form along with your email, mobile information and the area you live. The second part of the group is used for a ‘Check in’ this is a chance for each member to say a little bit about how their last week or so has been. New members may want to introduce themselves and tell us what they hope to achieve from attending the group. We try to keep the check in session as ‘light hearted’ as we can, even though we do discuss sensitive issues, we try to encourage each other to offer constructive advice and tips. We usually have a break at 3.15pm to 3.30 however, this is flexible depending on what the group decide on the day.The Third part of the group is when we discuss the weekly topic (to be decided previously unless the group agree that there is a priority topic). Please use the card system provided and familiarise yourself with the different types of cards and what they are used for. For example, there is an overload card (RED) if you show this then the group will know you need some ‘time out’ please feel free leave the room at any point, if you would like to talk to Trish then please do let her know by keeping your card held up as you leave the room. Trish offers one to one support each week for half an hour before and half an hour after the group. These one-to-one appointments are for Group Members, family or Carers. If you would like to book a one to one with Trish, then please email her on or text her mobile with your time preference. The group is usually out on social outings on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Please contact Matt or Sam about attending the community outings. DFA are happy to pay ?5 for each DFA member towards the costs of attending community outings. Ideas for outings are always welcome. This year’s community outing dates are 9th August, 13th September, 11th October, 8th November and 13th December. Please ask Matt about these via email so he can let you know what is being planned. If you have ideas for the DFA community outings, then please do let Trish or Matt know.Trish will keep a list of members (on her secure laptop) and will email or text out to all members each Tuesday about the whereabouts of the group and topic that week. DFA provide refreshments at the support groups (the reason we charge ?3 subs each week, the first week is free) but we recommend that you bring your own refreshments to community outings. ................
