TITLE:
TITLE: SYSTEM SUPPORT SPECIALIST
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of common operating systems, such as Win.x, DOS, MAC, ProDOS
AND
A minimum of a high school diploma and at least two years of experience in
one or more of the following areas: data processing (excluding data entry),
electronics or engineering, one year of which must have been in the area of
computer applications and maintenance.
NOTE: Vocational/technical training in one of the areas described above can
substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required
experience.
Completion of vendor supplied program of study of four or more weeks in the
area indicated can substitute for six months of the required experience.

In the opinion of the Director of Information Services meets the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position.
REPORTS TO: Current Organizational Chart or Site Administrator
SUPERVISES: N/A
POSITION GOALS: Serve as field support resource for site-based technicians and network system
operators.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist users with the installation, configuration, problem identification, and troubleshooting of
standard and/or networking equipment, hardware configuration and/or software.
2. Assist users with the trouble shooting, configuring and optimizing common operating systems.
3. Maintain liaison with vendors used throughout the networking equipment and/or software with
regard to proper operation, installation, and maintenance of the equipment and/or software.
4. Install and configure networking equipment and/or software components.
5. Use a searchable database to document problems and solutions.
6. Serve on District Hardware Recommendations/Acquisitions Committee.
7. Maintain current knowledge of networking equipment and/or software, modification and
improvements and makes recommendations in these areas.
8. Performs other related work and/or duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months. Paygrade as established by the School Board in current salary schedule 6
EVALUATION: Performance evaluated annually in accordance with the Board=s policy on
evaluation.
