(1-2 wk blocks) Attend on the general medicine wards at Denver Health for one or two-week blocks, rounding with residents, interns, students, and often preceptees. Perform teaching rounds at the bedside, formal teaching rounds with medical team, model or lead family meetings, provide mentoring for students considering a career in internal medicine.. Consistently rank in top 15% of teaching attendings encountered.

2009 to present Hospital Medicine Proceduralist

Supervised and trained internal medicine interns and residents to be proficient in bedside procedures using point-of-care ultrasound for thoracentesis, paracentesis, central lines, and lumbar punctures.

2012 to present Development of Hospitalist Elective Curriculum – Denver Health

Co-creator of the Hospitalist Elective Curriculum. Developed and implemented a hospitalist elective at Denver Health. This elective offers a unique hospitalist experience including the care of the bariatric patient, research opportunities, and LEAN training. Residents will also receive formal training in traditional hospitalist areas such as consultative medicine, bedside procedures, and care of the hospitalized medical patient.
