Thank you for your interest in participating in the Harpoon Brewery BBQ Festival.
As we approach our twentieth year of producing the Harpoon Brewery BBQ Festival, we are delighted to find the event has become popular for competitors and the general public alike. This success is due, in large part, to the passion and skill of the teams that have participated. We are very grateful for everyone’s contribution.
New for 2020 are two changes to the UFO Grilling Competition. We are replacing Strip Steak category with Anything Wrapped in Bacon and making the Chef’s Choice Open Container. This should spice up the competition and make it more fun the teams. The rules and regulations will be part of the registration packet.
The application must be completed by all teams who wish to be considered for the contest. The application must be completed and received between January 21st, 2020 and April 1st, 2020. All applications will be reviewed after April 1st, 2020 and the selected teams will be notified by April 15th, 2020.
There are two competitions during the weekend: The UFO Summer Sizzler on Saturday July 25th and the KCBS sanctioned Harpoon Brewery BBQ Championship on Sunday July 26th. Teams arrive on Friday July 24th and depart after 5:00 pm on Sunday July 26th. The prize money is as follows:

If your application is accepted, then you will be sent a registration packet. The registration form and non-refundable fee of $375.00 will be due by May 1st, 2020. The registration packet will contain the registration form, contest rules, regulations, and timelines, and other event details. Teams will forfeit their entry into the event if we do not receive their registration and fee by May 1st, 2020.
Same as 2019, the application is being accepted via email in addition to traditional mail. All applications must be postmarked prior to April 1st, 2020.

This competition is a celebration of outstanding barbecue along with the uncompromising quality of Harpoon and UFO beer. The application process allows us to find those teams that are the best match for the festival.
To past competitors, thank you for the hard work, fun, and outstanding barbecue you have provided to this event in the past; to future competitors, we wish you good luck and good cooking. We are looking forward to many more great years.

This application will be used to determine which teams will be accepted into the Harpoon Brewery BBQ Festival. The questions are in no particular order of importance. The application process is open to all teams between January 21st, 2020 and April 1st, 2020. All applications will be judged on their merits by an anonymous panel of judges, selected by Harpoon, and all decisions are final. All teams will be notified of the decision by April 15th, 2020. Filling out this application will commit your team to participating in the Competition if your application is accepted.
