This will include importing graphics, editing content, and providing accessibility standards when required.CLASSROOM DIVERSITYCultural Diversity – The students are Rwandan and may have some difficulty with instructions in English. INSTRUCTIONAL REFERENCES: Camtasia Studio 8 Tutorials Office – PowerPoint AIDS:ComputerInternet accessCamtasia Studio 8 SoftwareMicrosoft Office – PowerPoint SoftwarePRESENTATION:Each student should click on the Camtasia Studio 8 icon located on their desktop and follow along as the instructor presents the material.In the upper left-hand corner, locate the button that is labeled “Record the Screen”, this allows you record everything that is currently on your computer screen.The next button is labeled “Import Media”, this allows you to import videos, graphics, and PowerPoint presentations that will become part of your video.The “Produce and Share” button converts your video to an MP4 file once your production and editing is complete. An MP4 video can be viewed by most video watching software and social networks such as YouTube.In the middle of the Camtasia production screen is the “Clip Bin” tab. This is where you place files to be included in the video production. This can be done by uploading graphics, videos, or PowerPoint presentations from your computer or use the “drag & drop” feature to place files into the Camtasia recording file block.The next tab is the “Library” tab. Here you can store media to be used in multiple videos.The “Callouts” tab allows the user to zoom in and out or determine how your video transitions to different media types.The “More” tab allows for the production of surveys or assessments that will be graded by the computer with results being emailed to the instructor.At the bottom of the screen is the “Timeline”. This is where editing of the video takes place. There are multiple tracks that can hold audio files, video files, and imported files.Files from the “Camtasia Recording File” block can be dragged down to the timeline track to be included in the video presentation. Files from the “Library” tab can also be dragged down to the timeline track as well.Once a file is placed on the timeline track, you will be able to see the file running in the video screen located at the top right-hand side of the Camtasia screen.Editing of the file is simple. By dragging the red or green portions of the timeline tracker, you can delete portions of the file or input additional callouts and graphics or move the entire file to another area of the timeline.There is a plug-in software called “SnagIt” that is used to convert PowerPoint presentations to Camtasia compatible files and imports the PowerPoint presentation into Camtasia.For additional instruction using the Camtasia Studio 8 or SnagIt software, you can view comprehensive video tutorials on the TechSmith website at Accessories.
