Illinois JusticeCorps is an innovative program to enhance access to justice for the growing number of unrepresented people in the courts by empowering and training student volunteers and AmeriCorps members to help people without lawyers navigate the court system. The Illinois Bar Foundation administers the Illinois JusticeCorps program, which places college and law student volunteers in courthouses to help people without lawyers navigate the judicial system. Originally established as a pilot program in Cook and McLean Counties by The Chicago Bar Foundation and the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Access to Justice, JusticeCorps has proven to be a valuable program to help unrepresented litigants obtain the assistance they need to address vital civil legal problems.

The Illinois JusticeCorps Regional Coordinator for Cook County will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of two JusticeCorps sites in Cook County and one site in Waukegan. The Regional Coordinator will report to the Chicago Bar Foundation Director of Pro Bono and Court Advocacy on programmatic work and to the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF) Executive Director on other matters. The Regional Coordinator for Cook County will work collaboratively with other Regional Program Coordinator and the Program Operations Director to ensure effective programming.

Job Duties Include:

? Recruit, train and manage full-time members and part-time members at two locations in Cook County and in the Waukegan courthouse.

? Work closely with full-time members to manage all day-to-day site operations.

? Oversee and maintain on-site presence for the JusticeCorps program in the Circuit Court of Cook County Resource Center for People without Lawyers; work with other staff in Center to manage intake and otherwise ensure collaborative and smooth operations in the Center.

? Working with the CBF Director of Pro Bono and Court Advocacy, manage relationships with various stakeholders for each location, including participating in regular meetings and identifying potential opportunities for member service.

? Act as central liaison with stakeholders in relevant sites, including communicating regularly to those program partners about the program.

? Track and report member hours and approve member timesheets; work with Operations Director to ensure the program is meeting hour targets and goals.

? Conduct member performance evaluation for members in Cook County.

? Regularly visit and develop presence in all sites in the region.

? Communicate regularly with the CBF Director of Pro Bono and Court Advocacy, IBF ED, Program Operations Director and other Regional Coordinators to monitor general operations of the program and ensure high-quality programming across the state.

? Working with the Program Operations Director, implement all needed evaluation and data collection necessary for grant management and performance evaluation.

? Provide professional mentorship and help identify ongoing training needs for both the full-time and part-time members.

Job Requirements

? Bachelor's Degree, and supervisory experience with professional staff; experience working with volunteer staff.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Well-organized; very good time manager; ability to maintain complete and accurate program records.

? Flexible; good problem solver.

? Professionalism and dependability.

? Ability to use Excel software to track various performance measures and create reports for AmeriCorps.

? Valid Illinois driver's license to carry out job-related essential functions of the position. Ability to attend conferences and travel by car and public transportation throughout the county and throughout the State. Willingness to occasionally work on nights and weekends.

? Performing other duties as assigned.

Desirable Qualifications ? Law degree or significant experience within the court system or government is strongly preferred. ? Previous experience with AmeriCorps programs. ? Experience with volunteer management. ? Experience with program development. ? Bilingual in Spanish desirable.
