JOB DESCRIPTION

Position title: Manager, Corporate Communications

Reports to: Executive Director, Marketing

Supervises: None

Band: 3

Date: 8th May 2007

I. Mission of the Department: To support collective fundraising efforts of the Network

II. Major Functions:

• Provides communication consultation for potential and existing corporate partners;

• Implements communication plans with corporate partners and the Network.

III. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assesses communication needs of corporate partners;

• Develops compelling communication plans for potential and existing corporate partners;

• Links partner needs and conservation goals to the WWF brand when developing communication

strategy;

• Supports Account Managers in the development and implementation of communication plans;

• Develops and maintains excellent relationships and synergies in the Network so that maximum

cooperation can be achieved;

• Coordinates corporate communication strategies with the WWF brand unit for synergies and

leverage.

IV. Profile:

Required Qualifications:

• A university degree as well as an in-depth understanding of communication practices;

• 10 years experience in an international environment in the private sector.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent communication, negotiation and diplomatic skills;

• Ability to relate convincingly and credibly with senior business executives;

• Strong leadership skills;

• Strong organizational skills with an aptitude to get things done;

• Ability to conceptualize and implement communication ideas;

• Creative and flexible with a solution oriented approach;

• Excellent command of English, other languages an advantage.

V. Working Relationships:

Internal - Interacts frequently with other departments at WWF International as well as National Organizations and Programme Offices.

External - Interacts with senior business leaders and communication experts.
