REWRITE THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH IN FORMAL STYLE. ADD WORDS AND IDEAS AS NEEDED. CORRECT ERRORS IN USAGE AND MECHANICS.

America needs stricter gun laws in order to create a safer environment. There are guns all around, and more often than not, people do not even know they are there. A family could be at a place as innocent as a movie theater, enjoying a Friday night out. Half way into the movie, you get a phone call from your boss that was unexpected, but you reject them. The person next to you rudely tells you to stop texting, even though you were not. A couple minutes later, you get another call. Now the man next to you is getting really upset, you flick a little popcorn at him to show your disgust in his attitude. The man next to you reaches into his coat, pulls his hand out that has a gun in it, points it directly at you, and pulls the trigger. This devastating story happened in Florida, and the shooter was a retired police officer. Could this have happened if he had not had a gun in a public place? Not to the level of violence it was at. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence said there was over 61 mass shootings from 2011 to 2012. It is obvious that something needs to be done.
