River Dowdy BioRiver Dowdy is a Clinical Counseling Student at Central Methodist University as well as an Alternative Training Student through the North American Drama Therapy Association and a Level 1 Developmental Transformations (DvT) Student.River is interested in trauma, and attachment. She chose HSSU as her practicum site because of Dr. Connor's specialization in trauma recovery as well as opportunities to introduce drama therapy in many different forms to the students, faculty, and staff. This made HSSU a beautiful.Her role at HSSU as a practicum student involves: Individual Counseling, Couples Counseling, Group Counseling, Family Counseling, Intake and Assessment, Co-therapy, Crisis Counseling, Life Story Narratives, Psychoeducational Interventions, Individual and group Drama Therapy, and Individual and group DvT.River comes with a rainbow of creative arts therapy offerings and specializes in using embodied practices to help clients process trauma, grief, and general stressors such as school and relationships.River is supervised by Dr. Connor on-site and by Dr. Taylor at CMU. She also has a Registered Drama Therapist/Board Certified Trainer that specifically supervises her Drama Therapy and DvT practices. ................
