Course Description:Sixth grade science is a course, which will focus on life science with an integration of chemistry, earth and physical science. Concepts, which are found in common with other sciences, will be emphasized in themes covering topics on environmental interactions, energy, earth’s systems, and climate. The District’s Student Handbook outlines the official progressive discipline policy, which may be activated, based on the student’s behavior and the judgment of an administrator.Late Work:Students that do not turn in homework on time will be required to call their parent immediately. They will inform the parent/guardian that their work is late and will need to be turned in first thing the next day. If the work is not turned in the following day, the student will be required to again call their parent/guardian to let them know the work is late again and will require an before school detention to complete the work.Missed Work: It is the student’s responsibility to obtain the homework assignments, notes & any other pertinent information that is missed during an absence.Missed work due to?an absence: Additional time (up to two school days) and full credit will be allowed for each day of a verifiable and excused absence.
