Help Restore System From Recovery Image On CD Disks

Wipe Disks With Clean Soft Cloth And Keep in Cases Or Sleeves

(If using Boot Floppy then put disk in Floppy Drive and skip Steps, 2 + 3)

1. Start computer

2. Put Boot Restore CD Disk in CDROM Drive

3. Restart computer

BootIt setup screen appears:

4. Click CANCEL

5. Click OK to you are now entering maintenance mode

6. Click PARTITION WORK

7. Click CDz

8. Click Image

9. Follow instructions on screen:

It will eject the first CD and request the last CD of recovery CD set

10. Put last CD in CD tray. Close CD tray. Click OK

It will eject last CD and request first CD of recoveryCD set

11. Put the first CD in CD tray. Close CD tray. Click OK

When it says paste pending (size) at bottom of screen:

12. Click No name 0 (select partition of same size, usually 1st partition on HD 0)

13. Click paste

14. Click yes to all data will be destroyed popup

15. Click OK to restoring image popup

16. Click No to popup about validate

It will start recovering the CD image starting with the first CD

It will eject first CD and request the next CD of recovery CD set

17. Put next CD in CD tray. Close CD tray.

18. Click OK OR hit enter key

Repeat Steps 17 + 18 until all CDs of recovery CD set is read.

When recovery is completed successfully:

Click OK >Remove Last CD of Set. Put them away. Don’t loose nor Scratch CDs

19. If Using a Boot Floppy, Remove it from floppy drive.

20. Restart computer

21. Read about old and Win 98 images to Update your image

22. Read to Create New Recovery Image CDs For HD0

Wipe CDs With Clean Soft Cloth And Keep in Cases Or Sleeves

Retry Side 1 Instructions using another CDROM Drive to Restore the Image from CDs

OR

Remove Errors On All Drives

Boot into safe mode

1. Press and release F8 Key continuously while Windows boots.

2. Select safe mode

3. Hit Enter Key

Run Drive Error Check + Fix (Scandisk) On All Drives

4. Start >My Computer >Right Click C:\ >Properties >Tools >Error Checking

>Check Now >Automatically Fix File System Errors >Start >COMPLETED >Ok

5. Repeat Step 4 for all drives

6. Retry the image restore procedure of side 1.

OPTIONAL:

Sometimes Steps 4 + 5 must be done booting Windows normally from another computer with its own Windows on Hard Drive C:\ and your problem Hard Drive on IDE 2.

Retry the image restore procedure of side 1. Click HD 1 for Step 12 of Side 1 Instructions.

Replace Error Free and Image Restored HD to Original Computer on IDE 1

Boot Windows normally

Your Boot Priority must be set to boot from CDROM and/or Floppy Before HD 0

BEWARE:

Connecting Or Disconnecting hardware while your PC is ON will damage your PC!

Switch Off Power Bar before Connecting Or Disconnecting hardware and power cords

Some HDs and CDROMS prefer cable select setting of jumper (NOT master and slave)

Also Image restore may fail due to hardware sharing same IDE.

Disconnect old hardware. Avoid connecting old hardware to new. Don’t connect an OLD

CDROM drive to your new burner, nor an old slow Hard Drive to your faster newer one
