MAIN PURPOSE

• To support the development of Mental Health & Wellbeing training for youth workers and allied disciplines towards ending mental health stigma and discrimination.

KEY RESULT AREAS

• To deliver a mental health & wellbeing practice development project to enable the organisation to effectively deliver the objectives of YouthLink Scotland and See Me business plans.

• To monitor and identify the training needs of youth workers and support the development of mental health training and continuous professional development for youth workers and allied disciplines, in order to improve the quality of work with young people.

• To identify gaps in knowledge and skills of youth workers around supporting the Mental Health & Wellbeing of young people

• To develop a Mental Health Training Resource for youth workers contributing towards ending mental health stigma and discrimination.

• To develop and maintain relationships with training providers in the public, voluntary, and private sectors, and endorsing bodies so that the work of YouthLink Scotland and See Me informs, and is informed by current best practice.

• To support the development of youth empowerment practices in order to ensure that young people are democratically engaged in developing the materials and resources at local, national, and international level.

• To test and deliver the training resource with the youth work sector and allied disciplines

• To contribute to the overall strategic and business development of YouthLink Scotland in order to ensure that it remains financially sound by identifying and securing appropriate funding and promoting value for money within the organisation.

• To work collaboratively with See Me, partners and other YouthLink Scotland staff across the organisation in order to deliver effective and integrated services

• Other duties as delegated by the Management Team.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This is a 1 year part time, fixed term and pensionable post. The salary scale is SJC 34 £32,553 (pro rata)

The post will be based at the YouthLink Scotland offices in Edinburgh. Travel and subsistence allowances will be paid, based on relevant NJC rates. The normal working week is 21 hours. By its nature, the post will sometimes require work to be undertaken during evenings and weekends. A willingness to work unsocial hours is therefore essential.

Annual holiday entitlement will be 25 days plus 12 public holidays (pro rata). A system of time off in lieu applies for hours worked over and above the normal working week.
