UNIT 11 Units of Measurement Lesson Plans

There are 4 Lesson Plans for this unit of work. Lesson 1 deals with the basic topic of units and measurement, including conversion between metric measures. Lesson 2 is focused on accuracy of measurements and Lesson 3 on how you can estimate areas. The final lesson deals with conversion between metric measures (SI units) and Imperial measures. This topic is marked

as it is not in the current CXC/CSEC Mathematics syllabus but it does illustrate the use of mathematics in context.

This is a relatively straightforward unit, covering topics that have been met before.

PowerPoint presentations are available for use if you have a data projector in your classroom; these could be used to introduce the topics. Where appropriate they are referred to in the individual Lesson Plans.
