The Future is Now MAMLE Annual Conference Poster Session Friday, October 16th, 2020 Time TBATopic: Current Issues and Trends in Middle Level EducationPossible Presenters: High School Seniors, Undergraduate Pre-Service Teachers, Graduate Students enrolled in an education-based programSession Chair: Dr. Katie Rybakova, Ph.D., MAMLE Executive Director Expectations:Pre-service and/or in-service teachers will present original research about a current trend or issue in middle level education. The poster will be displayed during the session, with the pre-service teacher in attendance to answer questions regarding his/her work. Posters will be 2-feet by 3-feet in size (26 x 32). Presenters will be responsible for providing his/her own easel for display purposes. We expect the presentation will be current, relevant, and research-driven. Research topics may include, but are not limited to:Community-based projectsLBGTQ in the middle level21st century literaciesTech tools, apps, etc.Middle level young adult literatureStudents with disabilitiesEnglish language learners/Immigrant populationsMultimodalities in middle level writing/ELASTEM/STEAM/STREAM instructionTrauma-informed education Service learning, inquiry-based projects Fidget toys, recess trendsSlang terminology and popular culture Professional development for middle level educatorsRural povertyDiversitySocial justice Forms education takes (homeschooling, charter schools, private, public, DOD, international)Application:Individuals: please e-mail Dr. Katie Rybakova at rybakovae@thomas.edu with your full name, e-mail address, mailing address, school, and title of your presentation no later than October 1, 2020. Instructors: If you are an instructor planning to bring student presenters, please e-mail Dr. Katie Rybakova at rybakovae@thomas.edu with your name and institution and the full names, e-mail addresses, mailing addresses no later than September 1, 2020 11:59 p.m. Titles for student presentations should be submitted via email by October 1st, 2020. Cost:College students presenting at the poster session will pay $60 for a one-day registration. A two-day registration costs $80. University and college professors pay $190 for a one-day registration and $225 for a two-day registration. Groups of 6 or more will be granted a 10% discount. If you bring at least 4 preservice teachers, 1 faculty member can attend for free. ................
