| | |Activities: Through the course of preparing and listening to speeches, I realized our speeches need more substance, |

| | |facts, and research in them. The delivery is often times strong, but a lack of facts and points to make can lead to |

| | |nervousness and a choppy delivery. To fix this issue each student will cite a minimum of 5 different articles and |

| | |present 10 separate facts from those articles to substantiate their opinions and thoughts. The topics will come for a |

| | |variety of areas. Such as Is there life on other planets, is our world better off with or without plastics, is time |

| | |travel ever going to be a reality, is medicine good or bad for our planet overall, should we colonize other planets, etc.|

| | |The first day we will use independent research and the second day we will debate each topic. Teach kids to listen!! |

| | |Must start out with, “I heard your point on…., but…” and expressions that demonstrate listening. |

| | |Materials: Notebook/Journal/Binder, Computer, Positive Attitude. |

| | |Follow Up/HW: Continue with campus culture with iAMwhs, Way2Wolf, Friendly Fridays |
