Curtis Charles Moore Sr.(1949-2011)

PLANO - Funeral s ervices for Curtis Charles Moore Sr., of Plano, form erly of Denison, will be held at 1 p.m . Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 530 W. Walker Street in Denison. Pastor K.W. King will officiate. Public vis itation will be at Cravens Funeral Hom e on Friday from 10 a.m . to 6 p.m . with the Moore fam ily present to receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m .

The s on of the late Charlie C. and Evelyn Moore, Curtis Charles was born on July 3, 1949 in Denis on. He was the seventh of eight children. He received his education from the Denison School District, graduating as member of the Terrell High School class of 1968. Upon graduation, Curtis was picked seventh in the first round of the 1968 Major League Baseball draft by the Atlanta Braves, where he played s hort s top for five s easons with the organization. Later in life, Curtis was employed as a Service Manager for Napa Auto. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, Curtis Charles Moore Sr., entered into eternal life. He was 61 years old.

Curtis is s urvived by his wife Lisa of Plano; sons , Curtis Moore Jr., Meccs ha Moore, and Justin McAden, all of Denison, and Eddie McAden of Plano; daughters, Sherita Mack of McKinney, Ashley Kay Garcia and Alicia J. Moore, both of Plano; brothers , Frank Moore of Los Angeles, Calif., Mosees Moore of Amarillo, and James Moore of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Barbara Harper of Denison, Betty Ray of Dallas, and Evelyn Woods of Denison, 12 grandchildren and a hos t of other relatives and friends . The Moore Family is receiving personal care from the staff of Cravens Funeral Home, located at 723 E. Pecan St. in Sherman.
